Using the SP-404sx as an external effect in controller mode

What's up dudes! I saw a couple of videos with using the 404 as an external effect with Ableton and was wondering if anyone had the same luck with the MPC software. If so, would tracking out the beat with the 404 effects on it apply them to the track? I'm not too versed on using external effects in DAWS or software so I'm unsure of how it would work.

It's not *too* hard, but depend on what you have for gear.

From the MPC you'd want to patch from 3/4 OUT into the IN on the 404, and then the 404 out into the MPC ins.

You'll probably want to turn monitoring on for the MPC inputs, so you can actually hear the sound FX in real time.

After that set your Program to output to 3/4, and it *should* work...

You can definitely get far more complicated than this with sound cards with more in/out, fancy mixers, etc... but for just the MPC and the 404 it's pretty straight forward to do.
