I’ve really enjoyed the standalone plugins in 2.3. I’m sure Akai and Air will be working on others. Xpand would be a great addition to the X and Live. That plugin has been around for a while but still very useful. Who else would like to see Xpand added?

It's a pretty big plugin as it is sample-based, around 2GB of content, so I doubt Akai would want to incorporate it into the firmware like it has with the new plugin instruments. I think if Akai were to add some more internal synths (and that's a very big if IMO) you are more likely to see Hybrid 3, as that's a pure synth. I think it's only around 20MB, plus it's there in the software already, so it just makes sense to have the same internal plugins in both environments.

Xpand 2, Hybrid 3, Mini Grand, Loom, Velvet etc would be nice on standalone mode.
Xpand 2 and H3 alone you can kill it.

Mini Grand and Velvet are again quite large, sample based plugins (1GB+ each), so I'm not convinced we're going to see these shipped as part of the OS and even if they work out a way to install them separately, I wonder how much free disk space is logistically available for this stuff, unless they can be installed to 'attached disks' etc like sample expansions are.

I really think we'll only ever see pure synths for standalone mode, that might change when Akai bring out the next generation of MPCs which should hopefully have much more available disk space, CPU and memory.

That said, it wouldn't surprise me if Akai will work out a way to monitise things to allow for 3rd party plugin add ons.

Ultimately I don't really care about all this stuff as it's clearly getting in the way of them fixing all the bugs and half finished features.

Yeah, I say get all possible Air plugins in there. In addition to Mini Grand & Strike, I'd like to see a few more acoustic instruments. Auto sampling is great, but anything with multiple articulations is not convenient to use without internal program changes.

Well why not some effects from Air?
They are really good and I don't think they are so heavy.

I don't see it happening l said it wpuld be nice. :-)
Third party? I wouldn't buy into it cause l have top quality 3rd partt effects and synths. Unless it was free lol

At this point, I'd actually prefer for them to add a Wavetable Synth. Of course it can't be something as sophisticated as the CPU-heavy Serum. But a decent Massive clone would be awesome and should be able to be handled by the internal CPU with no problems at all ...

As i said in some threads, i would like loading all plugins in standalone mode. I'm not scared about HD, but CPU hog

If plugings are heavy on the CPU Akai should make it so those plugins can go on an external drive of your choice. :-)

I think an optimize version of somthing like Xpand would be dope. Think about how many professional keyboards and modules shipped with MBs of sample compressed sample data. I'm talking 8, 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 MB (Triton, Fantom, Motif, Roland JV/XV modules, Emu modules, Kurzweils, etc) .

We are just now seeing these types of keyboards with GBs of sample data. Akai could definitely do something like a workstation style engine in standalone with the right programming, it wouldn't have to take up a bunch of space. I think it would be dope, who knows if they'd actually do it though lol.

Word yeah lol I guess it depends on what you're doing lol

I'm not having any glitches personally. I'm just watching to see how they improve/expand as well as implement some classic features that are missing. But it's been pretty stable for me so far, I don't use the software at all though.

New user here. Sorry to chime in on an old topic but it finally works! MPC Beats update 2.8.3 I think actually scanned it for me and didn't say fail!
