Not so many folks are willing to throw their MPCs :)

What would you suggest for a sampling session, going through many records that will result in multiple programs?

I'd probably make a programme for each record anyway... and name it after the record.

I guess I wasn't clear. You have 160 samples from 10 records and want 10 Keygroup Programs. What would be your process?

I would record all my samples from one Album at a time, name them appropriately, assign them to each pad, save the entire project under the Name of the Album. Archive it under "Sampled Albums". Then repeat for each Album

And that's the issue. Some of us like to have these sampling sessions, not having to address an album at a time.

And I just realized who I was responding to. Miss me with you not minding the extra steps. Some of us actually like efficiency.

Am I missing something here? Is there any other way than saving samples seperately, to get a particular sample in another program? Very important for me, so I'm just very happy with this advice given above!!

Im sorry for offending you, you can put your Tampon back in.

I was just offering you help on giving you another way to save samples. If you wanna record continuous samples, buy a Tape Recorder lol. Recording and Archiving Samples can be a tedious task. Run your audio into the Computer in Controller mode. That's Efficient. Recording Album after Album blindly is NOT EFFICIENT

I'm not offended. Just like when making music, I don't like to waste time. Your posts are a waste of time. How is it that everyone else here can communicate without insulting each other except you? I don't think it's me that needs the tampon.

Blindly? We all have our methods. Why do you have such a hard time understanding that? Why judge?

"Your" suggestion had already been suggested, but thanks.

We both enjoy making Music. Which is a good thing. Trust me...we have nothing but time if we're both posting AND Making Music. IMHO...The Journey to making music can be achieved in many different ways. Some Easy Some Challenging. My Original intent was to help, Again im sorry if I Insulted you :worthy:

Nah, I'm at the day job posting. It's a rare day to catch me in a forum otherwise.

I'm not insulted despite the attempts. Again, just wasted time reading them.

That is the point. To diddle around with programs and assign samples and so on, requires additional effort with no purpose. All I am doing is sampling or organizing sample material. I don't want to also do this with Programs which will be of no use to me. They're actually in the way.

I have a rather large library (closing in on a TB) and I rather not keep my sample files tainted by particular technologies (like MPC files). Those Program files would just be extra clutter without utility.

I obviously realize that this is not how all people keep their stuff, but I fail to see how being able to treat a Sample file just like any other file, e.g. a Program, Pattern or Sequence, would be a negative thing. The option to save a sample is already available, so the function is recognized as needed. Just make it also work the MPC way, the way the other types (sequence, track/pattern, program, etc.) work.

In a Program (using the pen), the option 'SAVE *CURRENT* SAMPLE' does not make sense to most people. There are lots of threads asking how to save samples, and most seem to look under the sample edit for it. I say this situation speaks for itself. We shouldn't even have to ask for it, it should've already been filed under 'to fix' as 'inconsistent behavior'.

Why not complaining for something more useful?
For example, Mpc phaser sucks.

yeah but changing an fx algorithm is probably not going to happen... but adding a tab or extra section in a menu or on a screen can happen and has been done in the past (for example adding that random note thing that I never even bothered to try)

I actually wish they would make an option to remove the stupid picture GUI for the fx and go back to the way it was before... and it would be nice to have a DB meter viewable in the fx edit screens so we can see while we edit the parameters. It would be also nice to save an entire signal path of the 4 effects slots for a pad so we can load it up onto other pads instead of having to save a template per effect and load them up one by one. And last but not least, it would be nice to be able to reorder the 4 effects .. let's say you decide you want to see how the phaser sounds after the reverb instead since it sucked before the reverb.... without having to save the template, then load it up manually in a different slot.

@ mr debauch

algorithms can be changed and improved.
And if They put synth plugins surprising everyone, why shouldn't they put fx plugins to improve the modulations that simply don't sound good?
Phaser, chorus and flangers don't sound good at all in my opinion.
Someone disagree?
