Air can and has been used in many published songs. I've used Structure for skeleton tracks before however they were never my official weapon of choice. I do like the Velvet.

I know folks that use Air products all the time. I know people that don’t care for them. I know people that use Spectrasonics all the time. I know people that don’t care for them. I never said Air products haven’t been used. I’ve sat and watched a producer use it, and 30 days later hear the song on the radio. They just don’t sound that great to ME. ME people. Lol. ME. Hence seeing them show up in the MPC is like - meh. But even if something showed up in the MPC that I liked, I’d probably still be like “meh”, because I want to see other things done / completed first. Certainly anyone that likes the Air products isn’t wrong. My dad told me a long time ago... opinions are to be respected, not dissected. Danoc and Frisbi, not to say you’re dissecting my opinion. Realize you’re just disagreeing, and that’s cool with me. Charles and I are just gonna sit over here like “meh”. LOL

Of course my friend you like it or not.
But just to say, Air phaser compared to Mpc phaser is like comparing a Novation Peak to a Casio synth of the 80s.
Some like Peak, some doesn't like it.
But if they tell you: what do you want as a gift? A Peak or a Casio? What would you choose?

Once I went Vienna Symphonic it's damn near impossible for me to ever look back. I used Velvet on a track, exported the notation and sent to off to my partner who re-recorded the parts with their Fender Rhodes and Fender Twin Reverb amp.

I always feel it's okay to disagree, just don't tear each other down and belittle each other. This industry is rough enough as it is.

No question. I think the same way. I would much rather have air effects than the equivalent MPC effect. But at the risk of continuing the opining - I still wouldn't use them, because I don't like how they sound compared to my arsenal of effects I have already. I'd bounce my stems dry and add dynamics in the DAW. But if I didn't have that arsenal? Definitely would want the Air effects and instruments before a LOT of other options.

Maaaaan I used to use that Vienna Symphonic at a studio I did work in. NICE product. For some reason, can't remember why, I bought into the EastWest library when I built my studio. Still a nice product. I'm on the fence which I like better. Could do with either one.

Yes, the belittling is nonsense. Like man, if I want malicious disagreement I'll just call a producer or engineer I don't vibe with and I'll have one in 34 seconds max. LOL

The price of the VS is no joke, plus EAST WEST can get you 80% there for a third of the price. Have you looked into the imperfect samples library?

I have a couple numbers on speed dial, who are still mad that I requested them to unity gain their boards and gear each time I come in.
