I recently bought an MPC Live and though I love the instrument, I really don't understand how AKAI didn't implement the possibility to assign Midi channel and input port or controller to specific tracks. How else can they call the MPC Live the center of you setup?! :?

Please add your support to finally adding this to the next update by voting on [MPC Live] Ability to assign Midi channel and input port or controller to specific tracks

Thanks!

I think you will get nothing but support on this. While I am sure there are people who has no use for it, the ones that do, it is not even a matter of 'better' MIDI implementation, it was blatantly omitted in the software.

I mean the ports are there, so the software support was prioritized low among other competing things.

Anyways, if you have not heard, as of version 2.3 or so, the low level functionality to support the implementations we are asking for, is now in place (according to Dan of Akai at Gearslutz) and we should in the next versions (not singular) see things popping up supporting various things.

So, unless there is a super-duper out-of-proportion misunderstanding (which would seem near impossible, considering the many detailed posts and replies in many places) between Akai and its consumers, it's being stitched together and should be delivered sometime around... eventually. :)

We are all holding out hope for our own feature requests. But yeah... given the situation for ins/outs on the Live and X, we really ought to see the device become multi-timbral at least. It may not be MPE compliant, but at least there are tricks to get around that with a multi-timbral device.

Yes ive been waiting and asking, waiting and asking, i want some real basics like sample/latch hold. but multitimbral midi this was pretty much advertised feature of live/x and still not fixed. i dont really think akai listens to its community but worth keeping up the requests is all we can do
