Changing the Zip Drive ID#

I recently bought an MPC 2000XL and got an iomega parallel port 100MB zip drive to hook up to it. I have been trying for a while now but can't get the MPC to recognise the drive. When I turn the jog wheel the screen shows the message "wait...." and never changes. Is it the zip drive ID or is it something else? There is also no switch on the zip drive to change the ID number. Do I have to bust it open or have I bought the wrong sort of zip? Please help as I haven't been able to write anyhting decent and it's killing me!

ok, ok. I got a scuzzi and it works fine. Ah well, now I have a zip drive for my desktop as well eh. Trying to be positive....
