Akai is also working with Nasa so you can download sounds from outer space.

If you keep turning it right, it will go to the end of the sample which is kind of weird because the same thing happens when I use my Akai S6000. I guess Akai is going into the archives for options now.

You can choose between 1x 10x 100x 1000x but also 10000x now which is good because it means it has the computing power to handle it without lagging.

That’s seems better than the round robin way the qlink button works with the live.

How do you like the unit, not sure if you answered that previously. Bugs aside any point in adding it this to the studio?

Yeah, I just got that update a few hours ago. It took me a while to get the APC into DFU mode to side load the update, was afraid I'd brick the damn thing. But yeah, so once it logged in I was able to "Alexa give me an arpeggio at 130bpm in D minor" and it pulled up a list of wav files I could import. Most of them downloaded at 0 bytes so I don't know what's going on.

I can't see any reason they would start splitting up Clips in the MPC into another software, so my guess is this is 99% compatible with MPC Live and X in terms of actual functionality. The main thing here is for people who like working with clips and Scenes like you do in Ableton Live IMO.

With that in mind I really hope the MPC Live/X gets the same support for clips, because I'm fine with working on a 4x4 grid for clips[/quote]

Well I think 100% compatible,
They use the same software.
And next Mpc update is focused on clip programs as Dan said on GS.
I wonder if they will make 4 banks of 16 clips on clip mode so Live will have the same exactly operatibility of Apc

I'm thinking 99% in terms of things like Session bank firing, the way that Ableton Live and Push do it. It might be something you can only do on the touch screen on the MPC X and Live, or it could be something that's intentionally left out of the 16 pad X and Live as a "feature" of the APC Live.

I'm skeptical of all companies in terms of us the end user. NI have all but abandoned new features in Maschine, abandoned Rig Kontrol, Kore, and dozens of plug ins. AKAI didn't bother to integrate the MPK88 into MPC2 software, their own controller, because MPK2 is out, even though they don't make a 88 key MPK2... Plus something like that gets X amount of folks jumping on the APC who already own an MPC X or Live, a crude sales tactic, but not out of the ordinary for music companies.

If I were Akai, I would make an Mpc Live 2 with 4gb or 8gb of ram.
Apart from this, Live is almost perfect as hardware for me.
A couple of updates of the software and it is perfect also as OS for standalone.
But unfortunately I am not Akai.

I would do the minimum of 16 gb for the MPC Live and X, and you should be able to expand it to 32 or 64 gb ram! Be able to open it up and insert those rams

8gb would be enough for me.
Even with the 2gb we have now, I am fine, I never run out of memory but I don't use audio tracks.
With 8gb anyway we could have more powerful fx, a good stereo reverb and so on.

Well lm thinking alongbthe terms not just for myself but others.
1. There are people that want to produce on soley the Live/X. 16 gb ram and option to expand to 64gb ram would be great.
2. If you get 8gb ram you know hpw dudes are they will bug you to death to then put in 16, then, 32 to 64gb ram. Lol you know what l mean.

Plus they should make it where they give 128 audio tracks. So there would be a need for a lot of ram.
Now tell me you would turn down 124 audio tracks. lol :-D

PDC and audio tracks would be cool.

More ram would be cool, but I have to say... I’d be slightly annoyed to have invested in an MPC Live, then have to buy an “mkII” model for more ram. I know - it’s how this hardware game works. But in general, like you said Danoc - don’t just give me 16gb ram, give me the ability to put as much as I want (up to a certain amount of course).

This is what I’m thinking... more ram would mean more powerful fx. That would be nice. I would use MPC fx more if this were the case.

And that's the point l was making. People out their want to be disconnected from a computer. But those that wamt controller mode get PDC. Its to please everyone

@eyalc

Yes I think with this 2gb limitation Akai has to struggle to implement new features or improve existing ones.
If I understood correctly, more features means heavier OS and less Ram and we already have a quite small Ram to load samples.
So the only solution to develop the Os is to put more gb.
I think we are getting to the limit update per update, which was obvious from the beginning.
I don't think that 4gb or 8gb chips are so expensive nowadays.
So a Live2 should be around the corner but this APC move surprises me

When I see people asking for 16gb ram it makes me really sad. The iPad Air 2 has 2gb of RAM and can run multiple instances of very complex software just fine. Also Richie was lying, cool, gotta love liars :vomit:
