Panning problem on Panning nob mix panel

Hey A don't no if it's me bud my Panning nobs in the mixing channel don't play the sample left to right bud instead gives a volume control

Are you sure you’ve selected the rotary knob on your screen, and not the fader which is located directly under the knob and is responsible for volume control?
