"im waitin for the people that made the other pgm making programs "

I am glad someone else is willing to program something on the windows platform. I don't even have (or care to have) a windows machine here and further development on my software has slipped since I got my degree. Having a windows machine has just been to costly and too much of a security risk.

I recently prepped a new live set on the MPC1000 since I have more gigs coming and I found that I didn't even need to use software. I found it amazing at what I could accomplish on the machine with nothing more than a calculator.

I hope nothing but the best for the new software.

I gotta give u credit for makin the best program editor ive used. the autochromatic assign and "apply to all pads..." is exactly what i needed. Thanks.

Akai should be thankin you too.

If your open to suggestions: it would be smooth to have an auto-assign function , where instead of selecting 1 sample and assigning it to multiple pads, you could select multiple samples and it would automatically assign them to individual pads.

ive defected back to the old editor... why you ask? not to say the new one isnt the shizzz (cuz it soon will be with some updates), its just that, for all the new features on it, i miss the auto play and save as whole program WITH samples aspect.. i thought id be free and easy just re-assigning samples, but ill be damnd its a pain in the ass after a while. regardless mad props for the new one! lets get these bugs and wants irond out asap and im sure well have the sickest pgm editor around.

peaceeeeeeeeeeee out

what i mean whit midi compatibility is when i ram a pad on my mpc, i want to hear my pc playing the sample i've chosen for that pad, and what i mean with global settings are settings to declare for more then 1 pad at the time for instance http://home.wanadoo.nl/sjeijk/temp/scr_mpcEd.jpg something i've progr. allright your gui is way nicer but this one really saves me some time.

Hey dude - I like yours too. Yours has the all-on-one-screen, simple approach which is also good.. Are you still planning on pushing ahead with you one btw? Would be a shame to waist the effort you have put into it so my vote would be 'keep going'!

I'm surely open to suggestions, and I'll put this down for looking into on a future update. Thanks for the input.

I'm planning for the next update to include:

- preview sample in sample load dialog, like auto play
- 'save all...' command to save PGM file and all associated samples together to one location
- a few other things

So, I've taken everyone's requests into account, and I should be able to have an update out by the end of the week (barring I'm not overloaded with my job and my side-business...it gets hectic sometimes  )

In BlueBox, you can hold down CTRL when clicking a Pad Select button to hear the sample assigned to that pad. It's a quick-and-dirty way to hear what you've got setup.

As far as global settings, you can apply a pad or layer setting to other pads and layers. Details are in the readme accompanying the application.

Your GUI is definitely an improvement on the previously existing apps out there, so good job :)

Hey man nice program,

problem, tried to get the sample to play but it just makes my computer onboard speaker go beep, instead of playing the sound out my soundcard, plus when i press the play button, it asks for the sample again? or when i use CRTL and Click with mouse?

I just noticed this issue myself. I'm working on that as we speak.

I'd love to explore conversion from other MPC formats, but alas, I don't have access to any other MPCs. I'd need to get my hands on another model to explore the file format, or get that info from the 'net somewhere. This is where I'd be interested in a collaboration.
