Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Memory on eBay is inexpensive, about $10 to upgrade my system to the full 32MB. is the processes of installing the memory easy for someone with little experience to do? or should it be done professionally? or should I just not even bother with the mem. and go for external storage? which external device is best to use with the mpc: hard drive, zip 250, or cd rom? please let me know.

Either way you're going to need external storage. Once the MPC is powered off, all memory is erased. It's really easy to install if yourself, all you do is open up the bottom, and pop the chips in, pretty self explanatory.

Is this possible by getting chips that have more than 16MB on each, or will the machine just not recognize anything over 32MB total?

The Mpc will only recognize the 32 megs. It might not seem like much , but if you stick with this forum, you will find out how to make it more than enough.

For external storage you can you use zip , or scsi hard drive . You should check out the storage options section. It has a lot of information.
