1)Disk Streaming
2)Multi Midi Mode
3)Automation Lanes
4)More & better quality FX with the addition of sub grouping (Multiband Comp, sidechain,Stereo Reverb,True Peak Limiter etc.)
5)High Quality Warping
6)PDC

Things Dan says are on the to-do list.
That alone promises nothing of course (e.g., PDC has been missing since the early Ren days in 2012), but maybe there's hope...

Is the High quality warping the version demo’d in the force launch video?

I want to see a video based around sample chopping and warping.

As far as I understood it from the GS thread, Hype depends on 10GB sample content. A stock MPC Live/X doesn't have the extra space on the internal sample storage (the internal SD card - no sounds on eMMC!), but you will be able to install it to a SATA drive.

Bro I got the dopest 3rd Party Pro effects already. Waves being the top ones. LOL :-D

I meant $150 but the GUI for the Force is well thought out. Still want to see other things, that I mentioned before. Functionality over sounds/effects, because I have lots of sounds and effects!

How does it interface with software daw?
How does switching from standalone to controller work?
How long it takes to turn on, load a project and get started?
How well does MIDI works?
Does it support, MMC, MTC, and MIDI CLOCK?
Can it send MIDI over USB?
How the Ethernet port works with other gear?
What file formats does it read?
What are the sample rates it support?

Maybe still overkill, but I'm even happier I went with a 1TB SSD. Projects, "regular" samples (auto-sampling is going to heavily increase my sample content), programs, now Hype related samples and who knows what else is coming.

Do you think Hype will be working also on 520gb Sata HD or will I have to get an SSD?

Unfortunately that is beyond my expertise. I try to go with the best I can afford to future proof against as much as possible.

Folks have always stored samples on SATA drives though.

This is the big question mark. So far Dan has said that the Force cannot be used as a VSTi, which insinuates that it's not running on the MPC software, but a 'version' of it. Ableton Live integration is all they've talked about in "controller mode", not a mention of the MPC2 software. I'm really hoping this is all just a 'baby steps' approach to introducing the Force and keeping bugs down, two products for the same underlying code is a waste of effort...

For most of your other questions I think we can reference what's already there in the MPCs, except they have said warping is improved.

The questions are real world usage questions. All the videos show it being used by itself. No interaction with any other gear. In fact none of the videos, do a walk through of the rear functions. Except for the looper with guitar. I won't assume anything when it's up for pre-sale already.

That's like purchasing a home, without checking the plumbing. If I can't get these basic questions answered first. I can't even think of picking it up.

Sure, you can surmise a few things just from using music equipment and computers for years though.

They claim only Live integration at the moment, they're not mentioning MPC2 software on the PC even..

This is a 1.0, it will not be (more or less) bug free for at least three months.

The specs are really similar, same issues even, 8 tracks of audio, 16GB built in memory, 2GB RAM etc.

Because it's pretty much the exact same surface motherboard you can expect the same MIDI abilities and limitations.

USB and MIDI, yeah that one kinda is a big fat WTF? why it can't send MIDI over USB yet can receive it??

Anyway like you said, until it's tested even with information that it's essentially the same software and hardware as the MPCs we can only make educated guess's until it's in someone's hands. It's not gonna be me though, I'm done beta testing, and hardware is far too expensive to do that with.

Once it out in the world and in the hands of people, who actually use it. Then we'll see what it can do. It is obvious from the video, they were under an embargo and could not speak on certain things.

Personally I'm not concerned with MPC 2.0 Software. I don't use it.

2 GB is a problem.

This has been in the works for sometime, all the flaws the X and Live had, should not be there. Considered it
will be Akai OS 2.4

Not with 1 midi in, 1 midi out, and 1 midi through. Also the Ethernet is still intriguing.

machinesworking wrote:

This is unknown however, people thought it wasn't going to work with Ableton, and it does. People thought it did not have velocity sensitive pads, and it does. Never know what they have planned.

Never pay to be a Beta Tester. $1500 is not bad for working professionals. We always need a tax write off!
