Some of these effects might make drop some of my favorite VST's..

I thought for certain new effects and PDC would be in the same update. Not sure how stand alone effects work, but for folks using effect plugins in the software, what are you'll doing to work around no PDC? Or are folks excited to use the new effects in their DAWs?

The Air plugins sound great. There’s even a transient shaper in there!

I’m glad they’ve fixed the clip mode but it sounds like they didn’t add the ability to launch midi clips from that mode. Hope I’m wrong.

Does the improvements to clip mode mean I could assign an external controller (a launch pad for example) purely to the clip launch program, then navigate to a synth program whilst still being able to control the clips with my external controller, or does that still fall inside the multitimbral issue?

Getting a lot of Facebook messages from MPC Touch users wondering why all the marketing for 2.4 states that it is 'for MPC X & MPC Live'. I'm assuming this simply reflects the fact that the Touch is now considered old news and not worth mentioning in marketing, rather than the possibility that they are no longer supporting the Touch. Unless anyone has heard differently?

Yeah exactly.
I think the goal is that you dont need vst anymore.
Or that Akai will make their own non-vst plugins.
I used Air fx with Pro Tools until last year when I left computer and started using Mpc.
I confirm they are top quality fx.

https://www.gak.co.uk/blog/namm-2019-akai-update-2-4/

New software update provides MPC X, MPC Live and MPC Software 2 users with 28 AIR Music Technology Effects and the amazing Mother Ducker side-chain processor.

If MPC touch user is same as MPC Software 2 user then update 2.4 is for MPC touch too i thing.

Just wait until they try to run 4 effects on 10 tracks in standalone.

Yeah let's see.
That is what I am also thinking.
But given that Air fx on Pro tools have zero latency, they shouldn't be much cpu hungry

CPU won't be the issue. I am curious with how much RAM each instance takes up.
