Hi everyone, It's been a while since I've been here.
I have a question about recording live guitar into the MPC Live.
Let's say I make a drum beat that I want to play some guitar riffs over it. I have a 6505 amp with specific pedals that I typically use when playing guitar that I like the sound of very much. Should I record the guitar through a mic'd amp into MPC Live via SM57 mic, or directly from the guitar into the MPC.
I know both ways would probably work but I would need some type of guitar effect to sort of replicate the sound of my amp / pedals make if I were to just go from the guitar directly into the MPC. I'm assuming I couldn't just load a VST like TSE X50 into the MPC to use on the recorded guitar track but would probably have to use a DAW for the VST. Which makes me think maybe I should just record directly into reaper through my audio interface.
I like the idea of having a whole beat pretty much done in the MPC before transferring over to a DAW though.
I'm just sorta trying to figure out a new workflow.
Thanks for any advice or tips!
