Menu, push on the small folder at the top, select new project from the popup window

You can also push the small folder from the home screen.

I meant the play start button which resets the playhead. On the l000 etc... you press stop twice to do that.

Yes you press play start and the track will keep going, but will return to the beginning.
Press stop twice the entire track cuts off and the playhead returns to the beginning.
Peace

I think it’s kind of a **** bummer that we get people squealing about shift + stop while there is already a stop button without making a single glance toward the fact that this sampler doesn’t have bipolar filter and pitch envelopes .... or any suggestion that the sampler might be expanded to be more creatively viable ....

Also I feel like 16 stepsmode should have at least 6 octaves cmon

I’ve been lurking in this thread for a while and have been having these thoughts. In general I’m a little bummed about 2.4. FX??? It’s okay. But I have enough in my workflow already. What I don’t have is sampling capabilities on par with the 4000. That’s what I really want. Until then, anything else for me is just meh. Glad people are happy about the coming effects though. But I’ve already invested in plugins in my workflow, that these coming in 2.4 are just nice to have - but certainly nowhere near “oh wow, I can do THIS now...”. When first hearing about 2.4 I thought - oh, might be pretty cool... but this is just me though - no way I’d ever add reverb or compression in the MPC when I mix in Logic Pro and I have access to much better FX (IMO). Nothing about 2.4 changes my creative capabilities or improves my workflow, so meh. But those producing completely in the MPC, I can see how this would be more interesting.

Anyway, just agreeing with the quoted post. Will return to my lurking in this topic.

There are a couple big things to me workflow wise in 2.4.
• Clip Programs internal architecture has been significantly improved so that you can now play up to 16 programs simultaneously. Now when changing tracks or changing sequence your clips will continue to play allowing you to incorporate them seamlessly into a live performance.
• Next Sequence mode now remembers the next sequence change when leaving the mode.

those two things allow one to mess around with the organization of Sequences, and to more or less get some Live type features out of the MPC. It will definitely affect the way I approach it.

Oh, and of course in controller mode, the stand alone will never beat the ridiculous collection of VSTs I've got, but I actually really like using the MPC synced to DP9 or Live without it being in controller mode. MPC software as a VSTi is CPU hungry in Live and DP9, it's not at all in Reaper for whatever VSTi coding reason that is..

What I like about the addition of the 2.4 Air plugins is that they will have an intuitive GUI on the MPC screen. this way you don't have to look at the computer to see what your actully doing when your tweaking it using the Q-links. I just hope they are of decent quality..

I hope 2.5 gets the new mixer and automation lanes..

Mouse vs Touchscreen, I'll select the mouse.
Mouse vs Knobs and Fader, I'll select the Knobs and Faders.

My point is everything on the screen, should correspond to knobs and faders. As musicians we rely on our sense of hearing and touch. The main issue with these devices, is that they do not do enough testing with the Blind and the Low Vision community. If they did, it would have better Tactile function.

With the new updates, I hope they continue to simplify the GUI to a point, we won't have to rely on visual cues from the screen, to operate the unit.

Make sure you submit it as a feature request.

The live should have launched with stop twice to reset the playhead and Shift stop to kill the audio.

I also think that this would be better for the X. You don't kill the audio unless you really need to, so I don't use it that often (shift+stop would be fine).

I rather push stop twice for the playhead to return to the point where it started when I hit play.

No no and no. Panic stop future aka Double (triple tap stop mpc4000) tap to stop audio has been on mpc's for a long while now.
