With the following 2.4 videos released, I believe the wait will soon be over:

Good videos, he does a great job. I would also like to see the reverb and limiter in action.

Full fledged sampler.
24/96 in standalone
ADAT and Wordclock
Legato/Portamento
2 Qlink Faders

The MPC X and MPC 4000 have their perks and cons. However coming from Eyalc, he's making superior and ultra quality music. His skill set, talent, knowledge, and experience all match. Basically, he's not talking out his A$$. So whatever gear you put in front of him, the music is going to be dope.

Right so you got a glitch workin in your favor and gloating about it and at the same time acting confused why some of us want this workflow improvement :fku:  You're worse than X users saying how pointless it is cuz they have locate buttons! :fku: Im just jealous :vomit:

To be clear, I used JJOS for 10+ years. Of course my initial request was to have double tapping stop reset the playhead to bar 1, beat 1. In my back and forth with Dan he told me that the stop double tap was already used for killing all audio. I said it was legacy behavior for it to do both and he disagreed! It was actually his suggestion to use shift stop for this. Of course its easier to just tap stop twice cuz it requires only one hand rather than 2, but its still faster than selecting the time field on the touch screen and using the data wheel or +/-

Cmon yall, I know there are other things we want but every improvement and workflow enhancement no matter how minor is still an improvement and that is to be celebrated. And more to the point, things like this prove, to me at least, that Akai are certainly listening.

yes the double tap stop to kill audio is great, was tripple tap on 2500 but that was maybe excessive, other samplers use this method too, is almost a standard function please dont change that

We have 16 Q-Link knobs, and two types of samplers being the drum sampler and a backwards compatible keygroup sampler. What is not full fledge about that?

The 4K sample engine still runs rings around the X and Live in terms of complexity and sonic capability. Nearly 20 years after it was released. It's the synthesis features that take it over and above what the X and Live currently do - the beast of a modulation matrix, multiple free-running LFOs, global automation etc.

Drum programs are arguably much nicer on the newer models but they lack features when it comes to keygroup programs. I also still prefer the realtime quantize 'audition' of the 4K over the destructive TC in the Live.

Interesting...

Let's hope Akai's software engineer's will employ these missing elements in forthcoming updates. Pete Goodliffe said on his instagram that they have a lot of updates new features coming in 2019 so I guess we'll see...

Sorry was buried in some work for a few. And thank you Charles for the compliment.

Fre$h, the things Charles and Coz provided. The 4k was built on a true sampling engine (the Z platform), and is a full-fledged sampler. I don't think the Live/X are bad though - I have one, use it every day, it's typically the starting point for my compositions.

Coz said it best.

Ever made a beat and needed scratches but there wasn't a Turntable with a mixer around. The best thing to do was assign, a Qlink fader to amplitude and use it as cross fader on MPC Style Cuts. I do love the 16 Qlink on the MPC X, but the fader allowed for lots of more performance options.

I wonder what other, unknown performance options 2.4 updates will bring. I'm really into different work arounds or using the machine as it wan't intended.

Yo my bad you're right. Hitting stop twice only cuts the audio. When l want to go to the beginning either l hit play start or highliight "bar, beat and tick" and turn the Data knob to get the play head to the beginning.

I still say use the stop button to kill audio and to return the play head to zero. Why would we need to hit two buttons for that?

I’d love to see an X/Y vinyl scratch effect added.
