Pads are out of order!?!

I've recently purchased my 2kxl(Second Hand) and things have been going well, this site has helped out a lot!

I've got a question which I can't for the life of me figure out. I've read the manual and searched the forum for any related topics but to no avail!

Anyway I've hooked up my mpc to one of my sound modules (Roland Sound Canvas 55vl) using Midi and the pads are playing the instrument selected but the Pads in Banks A-C play in an irregular order. Not in the Ascending Semi-tone order I'd expected but jumping all over the place. Pad D does however play the notes in a regular Chromatic Scale. How can I reset or modify the Pads so they play how I'd like and not in a funny order?

Could the previous owner of my mpc somehow reconfigured the pads?

If this is not making sense please ask and I'll be more in depth!

It's the crazy default setup of midi notes on the XL, it's not you my friend.
They are not in order at all. You would have to make a blank PGM and place the notes in order yourself and use that template from then on if you want your stuff in order. For a LONG time there used to be a proper midi note blank PGM floating somewhere on Tutor's site (that was specifically for combating what you are experiencing). I don't remember where it is though.
