This sampler is pretty bad for non drum / phrase samples. I sold my 4K to get this which was a Z8 and def use samplers for synthesis. This sampler is weak sauce when it comes to non one hit samples.

So far it needs
CC/Qlink control of filters
LFO to not always sync with keypress
Loop crossfade

minor
start/stop zoom view similar to 4K to fix zero crossing for loops.

but why though?
why do qlink controlls not affect the correct settings. (adjusting loops has 4 knobs but they do the same thing just different ranges. x2 x10 x100 ) until you press the switch key. this was solved on the 4k with a range option why go backwards

why do the optional sample packs require installation in the computer and a round about way to use them in the sampler in standalone mode (while patches dont work only pure .wavs)

good?
the size
recording samples is nice and simple.

Yes I agree, it's nice having synth plugins but it's ultimately a sampler so let's give the sampler more advanced synthesis capabilities, that way we don't rely on plugins. Would like to see pitch envelope, additional LFO, pwm, etc. Glide would seem to be an obvious one as well.

I’ve been submitting this to get corrected since the live launch.

We may get an alternative fix, the qlinks now auto follow what’s selected on screen when you use plugins. It changes qlink row without having to press the qlink button.

Hopefully we can get that same behavior in sample edit and program edit mode.

Would be nice. Though I don't rely heavily on sampling, I'm holding onto my Z4 for these reasons.

This 100%.

This is what I keep saying as well. The 4K should be the mold from a sampler perspective. I suspect they haven’t adopted functionality from it, because they don’t own the IP from it. I believe the 4K was before the Numark acquisition. The IP may not have come along with it - only the ability to use the name for brand recognition.

Either way, recreating the functionality can be done - it’s not like those features aren’t “known”.

I sold my Z8 and have regretted it ever since. Last truly great sampler IMO (Z4, Z8, MPC 4000).

I guess much of this is dependant on the target market for MPC users these days. If the average punter just wants to work with ready-made sounds and patches from plugins and library content there's probably very little incentive to Akai to spend the time developing these types of (dare I say) 'geeky' features.

(Z4, Z8, MPC 4000).

Ya after the Numark take over its all about rebranding the MPC and using ideas that they did not come up with and that is the reason for the shit that has came out after. Its all about the the MPC FEEL you know.

When you have a corp who has never used the machine and they vome from a corp perspective you're going to get sh**!

They will not think as we producers do. To shut them down hit them in the pocket and don't buy it. :-)

i had the z8 as well, It was sick.....except the display kept breaking and it didn't have sample preview.
