My eye level seating positions is 4 feet, I would have to mount those TV'S 2 feet off the floor to avoid back/neck issues. What do you do, to deal with the noise of the GPU, those 580 are 36 dB in quiet mode. that console is over priced and a bit buggy i check one out when i was in Connecticut. Also i dont stare at the monitor also day and its at mixing high so ita okay for now.. i didnt want to pay 2 grand for 2 43inch curved monitors..

@danoc, How big is the Omnisphere 2.6 GUI?

You needs something like this from Steven Slate. The Audio Monitor are still to high for my liking in the second picture. I don't like my audio monitor to sit on the desk, due to reflection and vibrations they cause.

Does OMNISPHERE 2.6 allow for you to save and export the settings of the LPD8?

I haven't tried it. Ima look into that today and get back to you. If it does that's bananas! :smoker:

To get it perfect when you're sitting you look directly at the wolfer and you shouldn't be able to see both sides of the monitors. Once you have all these points you should be in a sweet spot. And the room tuned.

This is always a great reference document. It just seems like the dual 50 inch monitors is to wide and high.

Also looking at Omnisphere 2.6 hardware integrations, they put lots of work. Still now word about creating and important other devices. Have you tried to do it with the live yet?

hansjbs wrote:@Charles you should have seen the mod I did to my Open Labs Neko XXL. I went nuts. Bought it for less than $500 from a guy that didn’t want it anymore because the pc parts inside we’re old :-D . Upgraded everything, change some of panels and added my own stuff with stuff I had around. Maschine, faderport, 2 21 inch monitors attached to the back. By the time I was done someone came in to my studio saw it and bought it. I made twice what I put in it easy. I still got an Open labs Dbeat I have plans for :-D :-D

What OS in the openlab did you install?

Win 10. I plan to do the same with the open labs Dbeat. I'm changing the touch screen to make it adjustable like the MPC X. I'm trying to even make it mobile but not sure how yet. I Will definitely reduce the weight with a mini itx and ssd drives.

@CHARLESRANDOLPH

I tried the saving of the LPD8 mapping and
It can't be done. The LPD8 knobs are not 360 rotary and have no recall automation. The live does that would make it dope.

I was looking for peoples thoughts on the 2.5 update and saw this thread and had to join. I own 3 of 4 Spectrasonics plugins and just got the MPC X about 3 weeks ago.

I've had Omni sense it was Atmosphere and all I can say is, the worst thing about this synth is there is nothing out there that can really control everything it does...The hardware profiles are a genius move and really just speaks to the forward thinking at Spectrasonics. I wish more companies worked like they do.

I hate the MPC software so damn much, sorry Akai, it's still lacking clean performance, so I don't use control mode to operate Omni, instead I just use more arcane magic...plain ole midi. But, even then, certain buttons on Omni don't map to crap... you can only use mouse clicks...so I also use Bome translator along side Panorma T4.

In short, I use Midi from MPC X, Midi from Panorama plus Nektarine, and Bome...that's a lot sh*t to control one synth, but it gets me away from my mouse and keyboard. Setting all that up takes up a lot of time too. And that's just one synth, I got Trillian and Sytlus RMX too. So Hardware profiles!?!?!?! Brilliant! I wish there was a MPC hardware profile, but I'll settle for a Novation Peak(on my list).

Meanwhile, that Kyra!?!?! Dope! But, Kijimi...if I can get my hands on that...I'll put my 4k on that horse!

What about the MPC X's 16 Knobs, do you map them with MIDI learn?

Yeah l had it since ATmosphere. 2.5 update is dope. The Air effects are sweet! No one can complain about the effects.

I use the LPD8 with midi learn on Omnisphere 2.6 and it works great. I don't see Eric Persing making a dedicated controller just for Omnisphere. But a lil rotary box for Omnisphere yes. That would be dope.

Omnisphere is on just about every song I produce. Well, probably not the jazzy hip-hop stuff. But dance, soul, pop-ish stuff.

Some of the sounds are incredible, some are obscure enough that they're interesting. But the sounds are just the foundation. The editing and control is what makes it shine. Incredible product.

I didn't know the Moog Minitaur was one of the compatible controllers for Omni 2.6. Hmmmm. Not sure how those few knobs & buttons would control much of Omni, but that ups my interest.

I've been somewhat considering Omni (more so Keyscape) for a while, somewhat waiting on a sale. Spectrasonics does NOT have sales, EVER.

The only time I've seen them do a "sale" was discounting for owning other products. Keyscape is good too.

I haven't even gotten to the MPC X side of the house yet. Still mapping things using my T4, what I've tested so far with the X was in controller mode. Now that I'm in standalone mode, I'll spend sometime this weekend seeing how fairs along side the T4.

Just buy it from Zzounds...12 month plan...cost you about $35 bucks a month. I don't have Keyscape yet, but when I when I get it. that's how I'll do it.
