Splice is a game changer

The Money truth about splice is, Akai Pro is making money by giving Splice access to their customer base. Sell your data, scan your machines to see what software you run. So on and So on.

It's not. It's the same thing smartphone and software companies do with pre installed apps in the OS. Pretty soon you'll have music crush aka candy crush reskin on your MPC LIVE.

You can listen to your beats, while playing a couple levels of music crush.

Well the SSL 9000 has a game on it. while you wait you can play it. So a game on the luve would be cool.

Yeah it does have pong on it. However the with live, you'll connect your usb controller to it and play fortnite. :

How did it change the game? I have nothing against it, but let’s be honest. It’s the Myspace of sound sites and the WiFi feature could’ve been used in a more universal way. A way that would benefit the end user after splice is dead and gone.

I am all for future technology and new work flows. But I am honest enough to say, this is not it. I am not a blind hater, an old head, or technophobe. As I stated long before. Let me download from my own network. Let me transfer project/files via mpc to mpc or mpc to any computer or any device that’s on my network.

At least start a beat in the impc app then transfer that project to live/x via WiFi, and continue. For the impc users is that a current feature?

Two things:

1. ^^^ What Charles said. If I had to assume what others are thinking, it’s that we have WiFi on an MPC for the first time ever, and many are concerned that Splice “integration” is all they’ll ever do with it - when there are SO many other interesting things they can do. Again, what Charles said. I’m not bashing Akai - just voicing an opinion that if Splice “integration” is ALL they’re going to do with WiFi - then it’s NOT a good thing, and borderline is another feature that is never fully developed - given the list of potential USEFUL use cases that are possible.

2. This term “game changer” is WAY overused these days. If Splice, in and of itself, changes the game for someone, cool. And I believe that’s what the OP was saying. But Splice “integration” into the MPC changing the game??? It doesn’t DO anything other than sync a folder. It’s a money grab sure, and that’s cool too - but as consumers, let’s be real about it. And let’s not send a message to Akai that using WiFi in this way is sufficient. Push Akai to do something more meaningful, like the use cases several have presented in this thread.

I tried splice before Akai did, l didnt buy into it cause lm not buying into a subscription l know l won't use.

First off I never said it was a game changer for me. I said it is for some and who are we to tell them different? My needs your needs and their needs are not the same. You guys see Wifi in the MPC as something they could have better use for I don't think it's necessary to habe Wifi on an MPC but that's just my opinion.
What I was saying is that instead of talking about it so much leave it alone and move on. It's not gonna go away and its not gonna change. Instead of saying splice this splice that go on gearslutz where one of the akai guys hang out and tell him what they should do with the WIFI. Y'all wasting energy bashing the feature here, waste energy letting them know what u need instead. We all knew it was coming, it was mentioned months before they implemented it.
And @Danoc you out of all people should not mention crazy answers. That's all you do if you actually read my post instead of assuming you would find that I never said it was a game changer for me. I don't post much here so it won't take long.
