Dude l give less than a rats ass about Splice. I asked a question you didn't have to play Captain Splice to save the day. A pure question that's all.
Who said that YOU said it was a game changer? They answered off your crumb bum comment. You sitting here defending like you have to.
You're telling people to move on , why the crap don't you follow your own advice.

Lets get real. Show me how splice is a dam game changer and k will show you it's not for MPC live/X users plus can show you 2 game changers!

SPLICE IS NOT A GAME CHANGER!!! Facts! Not an opinion. Its nothing but a sound source and we have a million of those out there!

Maybe you couldnt comprehend the profound statement CharlesRandolph stated about Wifi!

Akai can get that money, lm ok with that but l won't be in that circle to deal with something that's not going to do a got dam thing for me but waste time and money.

And by the way lm making music lm not here 24/7. So save that bull crap for someone else.

hansjbs wrote:First off I never said it was a game changer for me. I said it is for some and who are we to tell them different? My needs your needs and their needs are not the same. You guys see Wifi in the MPC as something they could have better use for I don't think it's necessary to habe Wifi on an MPC but that's just my opinion.
What I was saying is that instead of talking about it so much leave it alone and move on. It's not gonna go away and its not gonna change. Instead of saying splice this splice that go on gearslutz where one of the akai guys hang out and tell him what they should do with the WIFI. Y'all wasting energy bashing the feature here, waste energy letting them know what u need instead. We all knew it was coming, it was mentioned months before they implemented it.
And @Danoc you out of all people should not mention crazy answers. That's all you do   if you actually read my post instead of assuming you would find that I never said it was a game changer for me. I don't post much here so it won't take long.

I think it's a pretty cool idea but here's my issue. For one, the way certain sound packs are structured is a cluster f*ck, so when you're trying to find a sound in the pre structured Splice folder on your MPC, you've got to dig around through endless folders, like 3 or 4 folders just to listen to a few different kicks. After discovering this I've deleted all of the Splice sounds from my internal drive, but now what if I want to sync to Splice in the future? I believe it will download all of the other sounds I have on Splice once again, no idea how to manage that if I only want to take certain sounds from my Splice library.

Another thing, I deleted all the samples from the Splice library on the internal drive but all of their empty corpses are still there, they just don't make a sound. I've tried restarting the Live. I just think I'm going to avoid syncing to Splice using the wifi and just download my Splice sounds to my PC, organize them into folders the way I want and then upload them onto my SSD using controller mode.

That sounds like a plan. I thought it was setup in an organized fashion. :WTF:

Nah man I’m like you - Wifi isn’t necessary. Which is even MORE reason why folks are annoyed by it. Taking valuable time away from implementing other important stuff. But if it’s gonna be there, make it useful. Don’t implement something as simplistic as Splice, then advert it like it’s a “game changer”.

And definitely not bashing the feature - just stating that we need to push Akai to do more meaningful things with Wifi.

And the folks from Akai post here sometimes. I think they lurk here far more often. Beta testers post here sometimes too. This venue is equally important as GearSlutz IMO. And equally important for getting feedback to Akai.

That’s what I think also time and effort should’ve been spent elsewhere. When I saw WiFi when the unit specs were release I thought why? Social media maybe? WiFi is there and it didn’t bother me just like splice doesn’t bother me either.
If your statements is true about Akai people in here than the stigma about this place still holds which is sad. This a place dedicated to the MPC and everything Akai. They should feel welcome here but this doesn’t seem to be true. This guy Dan I think answers many questions on Gearslutz. Even technical issues. I didn’t find out about it until a few months ago.

It is an opinion not facts as many on the internet besides here loves this feature and sees it as a game changer. Someone else here mentioned what I’ve been saying for a while. The words game changer holds less weight now then before just like lots of other things.

:Sigh: this is what I mean.
First he says“ Maybe you couldnt comprehend the profound statement CharlesRandolph stated about Wifi! “
Then he says “That's true. Tbh lm not into Wifi or the Bluetooth features right now. “  :Sigh:
Make up your mind. You do this all the time and you wanna come at me?
Listen guy I don’t come here for that, I read lots of your statements which sounds nuts to me and I don’t reply or mention you until now. I would like to keep it the way it was so kindly leave me alone. You don’t have to acknowledge me if u ain’t got anything useful or positive to say to me.
Peace ✌️.

WiFi would be useful if they did something with it like connecting the MPC to your home wireless network and run an ftp service on the MPC.

Then you can leave it unhooked from your computer and connect up your laptop to the MPC by using a free ftp program like FileZilla or cuteftp or similar running on your computer and transfer files back and forth between computer and MPC without having to be In controller mode. You could load up expansions or samples, midi files, or make backups or whatever and keep working on your MPC as standalone.

Yeah the stigma exists, but man Akai earned it. The botched launches, the abandoned products, the questionable releases, the untruths, the shady answers...

And it’s incumbent upon them to lead the effort to change that. FWIW, Dan was on here no too long ago, so he does visit and post here. But if I were Akai, I’d make a much more concerted effort to repair the damage that their past issues caused here. I mean look, you have a site dedicated to passionate, long-standing MPC users, and you say that the REN has MPC 3000 circuitry, until someone on here exposes that it’s really just a plugin. How did Akai expect that would go over? That’s the kind of thing that drove people nuts here, and why this stigma exists.

I post on GearSlutz too btw, cool site. But I rarely talk about MPCs there. Just other stuff.

Yeah that 3000 circuitry BS was funny as hell  . That was a bad move on their part, just tell the truth. The company i work for do this all the time and we make products for the Navy, air force ect... They always catch them. Talking features that don't fully work, over exaggerated release dates, lie after lie after lie but they love the RADAR so they keep coming back. Just like we love MPCs and keep coming back  .
I do hope that they participate more in here cuz people here have great feedback and ideas.
I don't have a GS account I just read for info.

A lot of kids, producers have very low patience and tolerance these days. Most will not care about ftp servers and what they can do with WIFI. They just want already baked stuff to work with. While Every thing said about the WIFI on the MPC are true I can't reallu blame Akai. They are a business first so they will implement what will sell before any other features.

If you wanna play dialectic acrobatics we can do that.

For them to say its a game changer is an opinion, but the FACT is, its not!

Do you know what a game changer is?

Come at you? Dude you're the one telling people they should move on and stop taling about it yada yada. It was YOU that came at everyone. Just because l agreed with CharlesRandolph and l don't use wifi option don't mean lm back tracking. You sound crazy. AGAIN FOLLOW YOUR OWN DAM ADVICE!
I said not right now because Wifi don't mean crap to me and its useless at the moment. If they made it for something that's actually useful l might could get into it.
If you read what CharlesRandolph said & Eyalc you would comprehend that!

And you still haven't shown how this is a game changer. You're defending it so you should be able to show and prove. Opinions are like assholes everyone has one. Show me facts! You think having just a folder with some dam sounds is a game changer? :WTF: You're buggin !

Akai has made integration with FL with the Fire, it was a buzz now its gone. Same thing with the other machine to compete with Push. The talk of Splice will be over and Akai will jump to another product.

they SHOULD of just given us the extra ram and called it a day. **** splice. I dont got time for that shit. I have no real big need for wifi nor bluetooth.

if we were given all the features of classic mpcs and added automation lanes then I bet we wouldn't even bother with the whole splice thing or extra bullshit
