No, not yet you can't - but AKAI have "promised" this feature in the next OS, which we are all waiting for.

Im interested, how did you come to the conclusion that the mpc2000xl is "better" ? It may better for your use but not better for everyone.

Im genuinely interested, as I never used an mpc2kxl so I cant say i know it. All I know I really like working on the 4k.

List the pros and cons so I can get a clear understanding of it please!

Well, having moved from the 2k to the 4k, I feel I can post a bit. It's not so much of a "pros and cons" thing. It's just simply that everything works on the 2k XL and it doesn't feel like it's half finished (which the 4ooo does appear to me). If the 2000XL had 400Megs of RAM and a 10.2 Gig hard disk in it, then I would not have moved to the 4000, but it didn't.... :)

Its wierd cause I havent had any bug show on my mpc4k, atleast not for the parts I've used on it. Only thing I'm waiting for is 16 level tuning and hd auditioning, but other than that, this beast is working great for me.

If you just want sequencing and not the hardware sample engine side of things then I would just stick with your MPC2000xl. The only addidtions the 4000 has a vastly improved filter section (as well as a pre-installed FX chip).

If you are only looking for sequcing and NOT internal sampling or FX, JUST SEQUENCING then yes, the 2000XL is probably the best purchase for you (in terms of cost, not just functionality.)

The only thing to bear in mind is that the 2000XL only has 2 MIDI Outputs, however, with the correct use of a MIDI Splitter / Patchbay, this shouldn't be a major problem.
