anybody knows how to create a copy of a song so i can do a re-remix/alternate take/sublimal edit?

I would say....Open the Project....Then select the Folder on Main Screen, and select "Save As", Select your location, Call it "Song-2"

good guess, but when loaded the project, in main page save as
i only see samples & sequences & not my song-1
so to follow your suggestion would create a new project with the same song as before, with no possibilities to listen / compare the 2 songs back2back (?)
[standalone]

So no. You can’t open two separate projects at once. You can do a mix down to a new audio track, I believe, and assign that on a free sequence.

i just want to copy a song in memory to another song in memory so i can do different versions of the same song/project

There’s no way to load two projects simultaneously in standalone. The only thing you can do is to create your 2 finished versions in sequence 1 and 2 respectively.Basically that’s how i use my MPC and not the traditional way with every sequence been intro, chorus, bridge etc.
That’s why disk streaming will kick as*^# as we’re going to be able to load all of our tracks in one project..

i'm not talking about 2 projects, just want 1 song in 1 project copy to another song in the same project
how-to?

disk streaming will only benefit those who use audio traks/samples but not those who use MIDI traks

Well...after duplicating original Project, you would have to Open up Project 1, and Export Song 1 to a specific Folder. Then Open up Project 2, and Export Song 2 to a specific folder. You wont be able to open up both songs unless they're Exported as a Sound File(MP3, Wav, etc)

Unless.....Hol Up Lemme try somethin

you are talking about audio (export)

i'm talking about a chain of sequences (song) that i want to copy to song2 (great song by blur) to have a duplicate in the same project

You can't copy a song in a project, but you can convert the song to a sequence and copy the sequence so that you have 2 sequences. And use those 2 as 2 different songs.
I find it odd that you cant copy a song in songmode... as you could do this in the MPC 1000...

if we'd could de-construct a such created sequence into its components / sequences (in song mode), then we'd have another workaround, yes
By JehBeats Wed Jun 05, 2019 5:31 pm
You could do this several times..
Go to songmode, create the list of sequences you want and crate a sequence(song1). Now go back to songmode and rearrange the list of sequences and make another sequence out of this(song2).

Another way is to copy the sequences you have in your song1 (in songmode), and make a song 2 , but use the new copied sequences in this song. Now you can make altercations individualy to each song.

Maybe you should also look into the next sequence feature.. Where you can trigger sequences on the fly and convert that to a song. You have to add track mutes after you have sequenced the song, but maybe this could help..

How many more years do we have to talk about this? It's about time we had such a simple function, being unable to copy a song is just ridiculous. And not many people seem to be talking about this, are we all just finger drum players on this machine? Please, Akai, I beg of you to add this basic function. It would double the speed of editing music.
