Caustic Yoda wrote:sorry to explain better, when a sample is in note on mode it only plays as long as you hold it, latch/hold would be another button you press eg shift which would continue the sample playing or looping, roland sp303 and others have a dediicated hold button for this, mpc2500 you pressed track mute while holding the note, digitakt you hold func for it, something that has been completely missed since software started, it can be done with a very long winded work around but really its sampler 101 basics that has been standard forever

I remember the MPC 500 being able to this by holding shift and pressing the pad. Could it be simple enough just to add that..

A new future where you can put whatever picture you want on the background or screensaver. So you can always see your favorite cat or dog :smoker:

Akai pro :-D

You better not!

I usually don't comment about these kinds of posts. but I'm really getting tired of these unnecessary feature request

On the main screen of your MPC x or MPC live there is a pencil in the drum group program. push that and you will see there is a serve current sample.

Wuz good ya'll!

Here is my list of farfetched hopes more than predictions:
  1. USB Audio without having to be in Controller mode or the ability to use a class compliant audio interface in Standalone Mode I/O
  2. USB MIDI Out to class compliant devices or Bluetooth MIDI Out
  3. USB Mouse support in Standalone Mode.
  4. Subgroups in Standalone Mode
  5. Visual EQ
  6. Mixer to look like a mixer similar to the Akai Force

To be fair, that feature is erratic and when working it only saves the sample currently assigned to layer 1 of the last pad you pressed/edited. It would make more sense to have a save icon in the top red bar of SAMPLE EDIT, and maybe an option in the 'project' pop up (MAIN > folder icon) where you can tap to select and save a specific sample or program (currently the 'save' button on that screen just saves the entire project).

In fact the hardware 'project' panel should ideally have all the functionality of the MPC Software project panel (save, rename, duplicate individual files etc). A classic example of basic, core features that mysteriously didn't get transferred to the hardware UI. But file management in general is appalling, be it in the Project window or in the browser.

Am I the only person who would like to see some effort put into making the browser more functional - e.g. copy/paste, moving, renaming new folders etc (although I think the Force has some of this, so it's most likely coming in 3.0)?

But I still can't understand why we cannot load samples directly to a specific pad layer, seems like a completely obvious feature (and one available in previous MPCs).

that explains why i didn't get a (individual) sample saved when using that functionality
i also wants to be able to save samples made in the sampler directly to a location, without making a program first (and without remembering that you have to press the right pad for it)
-but this is confirmed in the next update, so nagging about it works

The Live depresses me. Man, I fuggun hate this thing. It's soooo static. Without real life. No real options for sculpting. Its terrible in recording, and the knobs are merely useless tease!

Automation..!?.. what. A. Joke.

This!

I don't sample often, but when I do, it's a session. I like to go through multiple records. I need to be able to save & group samples to construct programs later. Good to hear improvements are coming.
