I have to admit, I thought the icons werent that much of an improvement but after having played a lot with Maschine lately - this surely helped finding the right access point again when I reviewed it just now ...

dont download the .img thats for USB update only ... you need MPC2.6UpdaterMac.zip for the firmware update and MPC-v2.6Mac.zip for the software - both contain .pkgs

having a problem here. firmware update went fine but software extract says file damaged can't open. on mac. mojave

oh boy. The Mac stuff can't help ya with. Uninstall. Install the software first then firmware. Im on a PC and mines always go through perfect. Im down loading now.

there is no image file inside that could be corrupted - you need to download the .ZIP file, when you extract it it has a folder inside that holds a .app file to install ... you are obviously referring to the .img file - that is meant for USB firmware update as I wrote previously.

firmware update is almost at the bottom of the page for me and on top you find the software under: NEW: MPC 2.6 (MPC Live) the link goes like: https://cdn.inmusicbrands.com/akai[..not allowed to ditribute...]MPC-v2.6Mac.zip that contains a folder:

MPC-Installer-2.6.0.16
-- Install MPC 2.6.0.16.app

Worked fine here. Its probably just a permissions issue, but thats beyond this forum. Just redownload it, something got screwed up on the way down.

For the Mac down load this Firmware:
MPC X/Live Firmware Update 2.6 (Mac)

For the Mac down load the software:
MPC 2.6 (MPC Live - Mac)

Do not down load this firmware for the Mac:
MPC X/Live Firmware Update 2.6 (USB UPDATE IMAGE)

looks like the correct download to me - looks however more like a OSX gatekeeper issue ...

for that reason you might have to completely disable Gatekeeper checks, and to do that open your terminal and type:

sudo spctl --master-disable

Your mac password will be required. then run the installer - next enable gatekeeper again

sudo spctl --master-enable
