Samples intermittently cutting off

I had the same problem as you. I had to do a aftermarket fix which is to go to MPC stuff and get pad corks. This makes the unit more sensitive and you will not have to press it as hard and also it get rids of the double clicks. next I'm going to have to upgrade the pads because they're so hard they hurt my fingers.

I don't understand what's wrong with your pads.
I just lowered pad sensitivity and/or threshold (don't remember exactly which one) from preferences and they work perfectly.
You can customize them for your needs.
