Hello all, first time poster here. I'm an acoustic performer by trade who's always been scared of studios and buttons, BUT, this MPC Live is changing all that. I've spent the past two months watching youtube tutorials and generally screwing around with the Live. Now it's time to add my own guitars and vox. Here's my issue

I bought the Scarlett 6i6 to use as my input device to the MPC. I connected it via usb, and powered the unit via its own power cord (would've thought the usb on the MPC would power it, but no). I connected my AKG condenser mic to it and I'm getting a signal into the Scarlett, but nothing into the MPC when I go to sampler. I imagine the easy fix is to go trs out x 2 from scarlett into the MPC, but if that's the case, what's the usb for?

Maybe it's specifically for DAW stuff (which I don't f*(k with), but seems like the mPC should recognize it.

Anyway, thanks for any advice you can offer!

The USB ports on the MPC support USB storage & USB midi.. USB audio is not supported.

The scarlett 6i6 is a computer audio interface and needs to be connected to a computer.. if you have just purchased this specifically for the Live then I would suggest to return it.

A small mixer may be the best choice for you

As shown in another thread, some USB interfaces do work with some caveats. You record/sample the trs outputs of the audio interface, but a BUS powered presonus audiobox works without a computer attached.
