Just want to clear up something.
I am taking a midi file fropm my 2kxl and importing it into protools. Now is there any way to retain info retaining to pitch etc that isnt part of standard midi data.
Reason being is that I am using the midi files to track my beats (been having troubles with inconsistent starting time when i just straight track with the mpc synched up causing everything to be out of time), and this data isnt in the standard midi file so it plays the samples in their original unpitched form.
The only way I can think of doing it is having each different pitch on a different pad, which is pretty unrealistic for something that works with 16 levels.
Anyways, any info would be appreciated... I think I might not be able to get past this, but if you coudl help it would be great.

Thanks
Arch

Pro tools not syncing right, what a shock!!

Seriously man, that is hard way to work. The 16 levels and slider stuff happens in the sampler, so no midi in that sence, have you tried using a smpte generator in PT and sync the mpc from that?

No, i havn't tried that.
Might have to read up on it, as I have no idea about smpte.
It's really annoying me tho, cuz everything tracked nicely into cool edit.
Cheers for the tips dude.

Besides SMPTE, have you tried either Midi Beat Clock or Midi Time Code?
If you haven't do a search here or at the Digidesign User Conference. There are quite a few accurate descriptions of the process.

It works too.

Peace.
