To add what Danoc just provided. Reason also has an app called Reload that will convert Akai S1000 & S3000 Sample Libraries on CD ROM in to Refills to be loaded in to the NNXT index the same as the CD ROM. I’ve been an Akai user for many years with over 50 S1000 & S3000 CD Libraries and they all reside in Reason. Have not seen any DAW with a sound library as large as Reason and soon I’ll get to use them in the MPC X my all time favorite sequencer.

:worthy: Thank you. Ab Live nor FL can do that at all.
3rd party companies as l explained clone keyboards and use Reload to make the refill. You get the same exact sounds from that specific keyboard. Not an emulation. Also they make the skins for them so it loks like a hardware rack but in virtual form. No program DAW has that.

People don't understand the depth Reason can go, the Rabbit hole is deep!
Reason has saved my music production. Akai is waaaaaayyyy behind.

I do all my sequencing on the MPCX and MPC Software and mix in Reason. If Akai has all the features that Reason has I would work exclusively in the MPC X and the MPC Software.

I some times do my drums in the MPC live. I will never go back to doing entirely whole songs on the MPC. I export my drums [ut of the MPC and drag and drop into Reason.

I enjoy doing my music in Reason. Its such an inspiration.
LOL  l ain't even thinking abput Akai and their software.

I'll give you a hint: I've been using Reason's "rack" for over 18 years. That should speak volumes, right? :smoker:

CharlesRandolph wrote:Is it worth it strictly for the RACK alone?

That depends on whether or not you find value in Reason's rack paradigm. There's a veritable metric shit ton of great content that comes with it, and loading up a good Combinator is fun. If you enjoy modular stuff and playing with cables, it might be something you enjoy. Or if you just want a good preset, it has those too.

You can load as many instances of Reason's rack as your computer can handle.

FL's Directwave been doing this for a Decade! But...to be Devil's Advocate...it wont load Reason's Refill format.

I think some people have been basing their Reason/FL comparisons on Fruity Loops version 2 or something lol.

So.....From all the posts... I gather the only thing Reason can do that FL cant do....is Open Up Reason Refills!

Reason 11 should be hot tho. Well the VST side of it. It'll be great to open up those VSTs in another DAW. Cant wait!

Then you should know then! I already let CharlesRandolph know he can use many instances his computer could take. :smoker:

Im talking about now 2019 FL Studio. FL can not open multiple session instances!
FL can not and does not format ANY keyboard , lay it out as it is from the keyboard or rack synth modules so you can have the exact sounds from that keyboard. You can't in 2019 combinate different devices as one instance in FL, such as sounds and effects combined!
FL doesn't have a dedicated Rack!
The way you can route in Reason you can't in FL, Reason even route CV inputs/outputs.
FL is a clutter f***, Reason is not.
Reason can operate on a 3 screen setup can FL do that?
FL doesn't have a program equivalent to Melodyne where you can go in and surgically go in and fix a person's vocals, we have that to come with Reason for free, we don't have to buy it. FL doesn't come with a dedicated SSL mixer!
FL doesn't turn audio into midi! Do you know what you could wuth that?
I can go on.
Plus the editing has improved which is really good.

FL users are excited about Reason lol they want it. If its si advance in decades why would they get it?

But l agree l can't wait to get the suite. No way lm passing this up.
Which one are you getting? Suite or regular Reason? How will you use it, Reason Rack only or in Reason?

Ooooh ok...you talkin about Appearance and Aesthetics...All DAW route...but u talkin bout the Mock Messy Cords in the back of units, like in the 80s & 90s. Ok you got it

Loading Multiple Sessions sounds more Cluttered than just Loading One at a time...But You got that too

Dedicated Rack? That's an Appearance Thing....Ok you guys win the Look of a 80s 90s "Rack"....Old School Vibe....Im feeling that....

Three Screens..Yea you right...that would help with the Clutter you guys have over there. Ok you got that too. :worthy:

FL Studio's Pitcher Plug-In....Great for Vocals.....Hmmm Lemme guess, you skipped over that one...Been there

Audio into Midi....Hmmmm... Been around since 2014. You can do that easily in Edison

We can go on & on & on....like the Energizer Bunny

Bottom Line. Reason is Good Program. Cant Knock it. BUT....Every Feature except opening up Refills has been developed and used for at least 7 or 8 years now in FL.

Im Game for More Enlightenment

LOL ok l see you like playing dialected acrobatics lol

Opening up multiple sessions is not a clutter so kill that. Dealing with the cables is not either, you can handle them manually or use the setup system. You forget try opening FL on 3 screens lol ypu keep saying only thing is the refills.
You cannot go in surgically and fix vocals with pitch crap in FL. Etc etc. Even YO ass knows its dope lol

Oh lm done l'd rather talk about Reason we had our fun.

Peace

I can't be arsed to read through the unending stream of consciousness that are your posts in this thread. I'm sure CharlesRandolph is happy to have gotten the answer, though.
