MPC 2000XL and MIDI connections

I have owned my MPC for a year now, but when it comes to MIDI connections, etc. I am clueless. I currently have the MPC connected to a Roland VS-1680 through MIDI. I am planning to get a couple of sound modules as well as a keyboard to add to my studio setup. How would I go on connecting all those devices so that they can all work together. The MPC only has MIDI A and MIDI B, so how would you control more than two sound modules, etc.? Your help is greatly appreciated.. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you!!

you're gonna need some type of midi i/o box that distributes midi info. i use the motu midi timepiece a/v, which is probably overkill for my setup, but it provides eight midi i/o ports. check around for something like that. are you using a computer at all?
actually i just realized you are using the roland multitracker, i was thinking that it was a module. anyways, a midi i/o box will help you out. you do have the midi out of the mpc going to the midi in of the roland right? then you lock it up using MTC so everything is sync'd. once you get some modules that you will want to control with the MPC, thats when the midi i/o box will come in handy.

the big one to do right now is to have the midi out of the roland going in to the MPC, and vice versa, this will establish a clock that they will both read and this provides sync so you can multitrack. In the mpc go to midi (shift 9) then set it up to read MTC at 30 fps, at least that is what i use. do that for in and out. you can set up the MMC for yes, then the roland start button will start the mpc, to do that though you will have to make sure the roland is set up to send MTC out. I am not that familiar with the roland so you are on your own there, but it should be somewhere in a midi menu or something. if mmc is on, then the mpc will not go when you push play, it will say somthing like waiting for sync, or waiting for start, i cant remember right now, but it won't play is the bottom line. so push start on the mpc, then the roland, and every body should be happy. let me know what that does for you.

The MPC and the roland vs-1680 I already have hooked up and are syncronizing.. Therefore, I only have 1 MIDI input and two midi outputs available on the mpc to connect three midi devices(XV-3080, planet phatt, Korg TR rack and finally the MIDI controller) How would I go about connecting all of the mentioned above so that I will be able to use it with the MPC?? I hope you understand what I'm trying to say..

ok, you can use the output a to one, output b to another and then try the midi/thru of one of the boxes to go to the 3rd. you will have to assign where you are going in the sequence window of the mpc, like MIDI: 1A-device1, or 12B-device1, etc. try that.

Thanks for your help.. So that means that I would be controlling one sound module with MIDI :#A and the other eith MIDI :#B, but how would I control the one that I would connect through the MIDI/thru?? and how would I connect the MIDI controller to play the sound modules?? Which one would go into the second MIDI IN?(The first one is taken by the VS-1680) I'm a little confused right now and I hope I'm not confusing you guysright now.. Once again, thank you very much for your help.. I really appreciate it..

use the keyboard in midi b. to use the third module try not putting a patch on the channel in the first module. so: mpc might say 1b, that means you are using channel one out of the b port, so try put a blank patch in the first module, the one you go through, then put the patch youi want on the next module on that patch. i don't have to do this so i am not 100% it will work, but give it a try.

Can someone confirms if that works? I'm also wondering how to control two sound modules, while using a midi controller [similar setup to kingofmelody just without the VS1680].
