MPC BETA TESTING.

I say software. The software needs major improvement. It needs to accept vst, vdt2 and vst3.
PDC , is that going to be made in 3.0 or was ut said its not at all?

I’m cool with that. I have what I need right now. No real gripes with the live, in fact they have been hooking up each update. Half the stuff I don’t need.

No he doesn't he's talking out his ass. If Akai has plans for a new Live, that means theres a new X on the way too. The only difference between the two is the I/O and the control surface. The inside is exactly the same, and if they cant squeeze anything more out of the Live, guess what.. The shiny $2000 flagship is also now dead and Im pretty sure that's going to piss of ALOT of people and not bode well for the next MPC's sales at this point if its left in the state it is.

Now if 3.0 is some magic update that finally delivers everything it was supposed to be from day 1, then theyre within every right to release a new one. You got what you paid for pretty much. It works dont it? Just like the 60 still did when the 2000 came out, and the 2000 still did when the 4000 came out, and those were all still rocking when the 500/1000/2500 came out, and they were all still partying it up when the 5000 came out..

Yea if any thing I’d expect just one new unit either in between the live and x or a flag ship one that goes beyond the x. Almost as if the x is the updated 2500 series. There will be some gimmick to it though. Like able to multitrack 8 tracks at once, plus a drum synth, hype and maybe a few others.

I’d expect keyboard updates before then, and something to replace all those cheap ableton controllers they have. Well at least the parts. They may even go higher with the force series, with the force being the comparable to the live and a enhanced version comparable to the x. Honestly the force just reminds me of a live with a push attached, but the work flow is not the same at all as the live. Strange how they are so similar yet so differnt. Some of you software guys may like the force a lot more than the live. Heck even a battery operated force with less features making the force the flagship in that series is a big possibility.

Myself I’m really hoping for the keyboards to be pushed. An updated mini ak with the live screen and the same user interface as the plugins would be amazing. I’m hoping for 37 full sized keys, battery operated, and analog filters with everything midi map able. They should partner with Sherman/ rodec for the filter as a selling point.

Next move for them will be a small cost efficient device. Something like a studio/fire combination. plus standalone battery operated.
That's how you replace a MpC live. This market will attack the hobbiest beginner producer. Or software producer in transition to hardware.

Agree. Plus who knows what on the cheap end. Maybe a mpc 500 type live/ force device.

I moved from a 4000 to a live and it fits me perfectly. I don’t expect the same from some of the power users but for me it’s perfect. I have the live and enough outboard to be happy for a long time. I’m not even using any of it right now just the live and a cheap ass beat up 75/dollar akai mini ak... awesome controller and I can add a few layers from its sound engine. Plus process the live through it. I’m enjoying back to the basics but I don’t have to eat off my work flow.

You are 100% wrong...it's going to be called MPC Full Moon. Also, it's going to make a howling sound if you MIDI it with a Rhythm Wolf. I should know, I'm BETA testing it right now. At 12 midnight, it transformed into a SP1200 for 10 minutes.

But to be serious, it's a good sign they are doing Beta testing. Shows the devs, pushing forward. Just maybe the timing on the MPC Live and X will improve.
