Pitch Glide or slide for 808 bass? Is this correct process?

I think i have the concept correct.

Im planning on layin down some 808 bass sub that will pitch bendl Like post malone etc beats.

My process would be to lay down my bass line.
So after I will try to find a pitch bend automation I hope is what i am thinking is what to do.
Is that the way I would pitch bend 808 sub basslines?

Yeah that's the only way Ive been able to figure out how to pull it off so far. If they would've done the LFOs and envelopes properly, we could've used a negative one to do pitch bombs but all we got is the automation for now. Its been a pain having to learn how to do it with the values the MPC uses. Couldn't they have just done straight up note values like normal people? Luckily I have a couple of hardware sequencers I can use that can do it, but of course, I can't run both of them at the same time with the MPC and have them actually work on two different instruments.. :lol:

Using p much any other synth or sampler you'd use portamento but the MPC key group doesn't have this yet. So yeah pitch bend is prob the best way of doing it!

Another way would be to use Saw up or Saw down set slow and affect the pitch, then resample your 808s notes into a drum program

I can't find it. Where is that thing?
I did check the video about LFO-> pitch but that is not what I want.
I want to play a note, hold it, and play another note, and the pitch should glide to that of the 2nd note.

Another omission I found: loop in release on/off.

I think he just meant put it in a key group so you can pitch bend it. I don't think you can do that to a pad in a drum program can you?

The times Ive done it, the pitch bend is really jittery, and you can hear the pitch bends stepping instead of smoothly bending. Its like the scale they used for the values is way off and jumps. Look at how the parameters change when you mess with the effects or even the volume. Theres no fine tuning to it, it moves in chunks, so I think the pitch bend does the same thing.
