Issue recording guitar with MPC Live in controller mode

Hello!
My problem is that when the guitar is connected through my amp to line in on the MPC and then the speakers connected via 3.5 mm phones output the sound is coming out beautifully. But when I put the MPC in to controller mode and plug the 3.5 mm in to my computer instead (which works with everything else, drum pad etc.) the audio from the guitar is just a really highly pitched noise.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I think the 3.5mm on your computer is a mic in? If yes, mono problem. MPC is all stereo.

Can't you just connect the USB directly.

The 3.5 is an output, it works with everything else (YouTube etc.)
