I'm not going to name names, but i'm starting see the same few 4000 users constantly complain about how the 4000 isnt living up to their expectations, and that so and so machine is better. If that is the case then sell you're 4000,and go buy the better machine! I left one board because of one user complained so much there werent any helpful posts anymore. Now I see that he is posting here doing the same thing. When will the complainers realize that the people that work at Akai are humans, and that humans are prone to make mistakes, and that no one machine is perfect. You guys want the magic machine that will do it all,and im sorry that the 4000 isnt that machine. Some of use users are satisfied with the 4000,and we have genuine issues that we need help with. If the Mpc 60,2000,or Roland MV 8000 is a better machine then get it,and post on that machines forum, and complain about what you wish it had there, and let the real 4000 users on this forum help each other out with real issues!

Actually, due to my HELPFUL and INFORMATIVE bug reports and feature requests, that is why you get new OS upgrades that fix stuff

What other machine do you think I should buy instead -
to me, the MPC4000 is the best!

No offense, but you are one of the main people I was talking about. How is posting complaints helping someone? I thought that helping other users was what this board is for. We dont pay a dime to maintain this board. The least we could do is use it for what it was intended. This isnt an Akai sponsored board so why would you post your complaints here. Email them, and bug the heck out of them with your unrealistic wish lists, and complaints. People really spend more time complaining than doing what we bought the machine for,and thats make music.

the mpc isnt living to MY expectations.
before the purchase i read alot of good things about the 4000.
but now ive learnt those things were written by people who got a fetish for equipments and not music production.

the MPC4000 is not a solid machine. The way it cuts out sound while playing reminds me of that game on Playstion1 "Music".

Anything the 4000 does you can allready do with Computers and even better.

Iam gonna stick to the mpc, and learn how to use it so that it benefits me. because iam sick of producing on computers.

^^that theres not a complaint, but my experience. if i post it up its coz i dont want other MUSIC PRODUCERS to make the same mistake.

"the people that work at Akai are humans"
that crackt me up man.
FUKK the people at akai, fukkin dikheads.
iam not a fan of companies. i pay cash in exchange for a product that needs to do what it intends to do.

hmm. You might be having some problem somewhere else in your signal flow there....I've owned the MPC almost since it came out, and despite some problems (which for my usage of the machine seem to be mostly ironed out), I've never had that one....Are you going digital/spdif?
Maybe someone else has had that problem, but I suspect it might be something else....Anyway, good luck..

sounds like a personal problem to me. mine works quite well, and if it's cutting off your one shots maybe you should learn how to set them?

Yes, it is true Feline1 (David Davis) complains a lot, and he does get on peoples nervous but, he is helpful. Hell, Feline and I even had an argument on the Yahoo group due to a misunderstanding on his part, but I don't even consider it an issue. I do agree that we need to see less negativity and bashing of people or companies, in fact I do believe one can be kicked of this site for such actions.

No schit? Gee, I *never* guessed that...... 8)

And just how is filling up the board with cr@p-@ss meta-threads about how we shouldn't say things helping anyone?

This is a discussion board,
and we are here to discuss.
If communication scares you,
why the hell are you trying to make music.

Perhaps you should go into something less social,
like catering or horticulture.

Unlike ewe, who's momma gave him half the money for your MPC, the rest u got my pimpin' out yo sistar
(she was a good one, I'll grant you that  ), just so you so spew out museum-piece burger-beets on it,
I had to work hard to get the near, what? £2000? £3000? I spent on an MPC4000, on all those bloody plug-in expansion boards, a flight case, a CD-ROM drive, more RAM, fondue set, blah blah blah.
I've invested a lot in it and I wanna get the best out of it.
So when I find stuff buried in the bowels of the machine that get in the way of my music, I talk to Akai about and I talk to other MPC4000 users about it.

For example, the FX board sukked.
And so I investigated just how much it sukked (-12dB level loss, it was) and I told Akai and I told 'em again and then I went and shot their dog and then told 'em a third time,
and after 2 years they fixed it in OS 1.60 so all you wee boys can have your FX sounding bettah.
And I don't even ask you to say thanks  That's just how nice a pop star I am

Hooray!

You just proved my point. By the way I run a recording studio that I've owned for 6 years, and 3 months,so I dont need my mom to help with anything. I've also owned every Mpc that was made, two of which I still own. Its been a struggle, but i'm still here, and I love what I do,and its finally paying off. I dont have time to complain,or critique every little problem a machine has. As you see I have a life, and this is the last bit of my time this subject will get.

in this world there are dicks pussies and assholes, :D

we have to learn to live with each other

do agree though there needs to be a MPC vs ? forum

I think all this talk about this vs that & gear is manly due to Namm,

doesn't stop the earth from spinning though does it...

Is it true the forum (read the credits) was form to help and give tips to other users, But over the months alot of s*h*i*t has changed with more users stating that the gear is falling apart, how they can`t do this or that, and how they are considering the MV8000, and how they hate this or how stupid the other users are for buying the gear.

I notice that very few of the main complainers very gave out any tips or techniques that( feline guy did give out a few I have seen attack parameter I remember) but at the same time has been alot of geniuses saying out rather bluntly the machine is bunked ba, ba, ba. And the main thing I notice when I read the posts like this is the mofo either didn`t take the time and patience to really learn the machine aka I don`t have time to read the manual and I`m used to computer software automating the parameters I going to use aka operater than creating from scratch.

Once I and other purchase your gear, it was an major investment in time, study and commitment to learn what we didn`t know, master the basic of the gear, and improve your music. For alot of people its has come to be just about learning the techniques and knowing what you are doing and your music comes out right. Alot of busters don`t know what they are doing so instead of looking in the mirror, and stepping up their game. **** and complain it is the gears fault.

There are three kinds of people in the world a famous writer wrote;

The wills, the can`ts and the won`ts

Which group do you belong?

I hope in the future this forum can go back to the wills and the others just switch to whatever gear that does everything for you as fast as possible.

P.S. thank the complainers for emailing akai that is a great service for all users, however calling the engineer stupid doesn`t make them eager to help either.

Where is Sean? :D
