I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a MPC Live but I've come across some threads about it not having USB MIDI out, i.e. you're not able to sequence one or more hardware synths via USB. Have I misunderstood this? Or is it an older problem that has since been fixed? Otherwise this seems like a total dealbreaker, at least for me.

Not midi out, but, MULTI-TIMBRAL issues.

Meaning more than 1 midi channel (1=omni, 1+ = multi-timbral).

Yeah, it’s a problem that is mentioned many times on the forums here.

Ok, so you can run ONE device via USB? But not more? How many DINs (in addition to the one USB) can you hook up?

Right. Thanks to you both for replying. Really appreciate it! Seems to me that this issue is almost weird that it's a thing in this day and age and so forth. I really like that it has great DIN implementation but come on, USB is sort of the standard for new hardware now, am I wrong?

Don’t hate on the DIN, it works awesome still.

I use channels 1&4 on one of my midi outs, so one track is on channel 1, one is one channel 4, and then I thru that from the back of my Moog to my Circuit. So multi-channel works for me.
