My MPC Live starts noticeably late when slaving it with midi clock from my MC707. Sounds really sloppy. Like a bad DJ mix.

The midi clock sync is also really sloppy when the Live is the master.

I slaved my TR8S to the MC707 and the sync is much tighter.

Any ideas about why the MPC midi clock sync is off? Or ideas about how to correct the issue?

I have the latest firmware loaded

Thanks!

In Standalone or Controller mode? I'd heard it was sloppy now but I never imagined it was that bad. Even my blue 1K synced up with my hardware and my DAW pretty tight. I do it all inside Reaper now. Subscribing to this thread, sorry I can't offer much help. The MIDI out on my Studio Black to MIDI in on my MBox2 seemed to be tightly controlling Cakewalk or Harrison Mixbus & lots of VST & VSTIs. I use the MPC Software as a plugin in Reaper now but there's nothing like hardware.

yes you arent imagining it.. the live sucks at being a midi slave device.

Ive had to switch my setup around to make it the master clock, its the only way that works.

Assuming the Live and X have the same CPU, it has be the source your receiving MIDI clock from causing the issue with sync. I have the X slaved and sending clock to another sequencer and the timing is tighter than a nun's twat on everything.

The MPC Live is horrible at receiving midi clock. But sending midi clock is ok.

But, the MPC and the MC707 don't sync up well in either direction.

Oddly, running midi cock out on the MPC to the TR8S, and then into the MC707, works great.

Weird

What about TR8S out to MPC?
