Finally starting to get some sort of workflow going with my Live, it's taken a while, as there's so many ways to approach things. Some advice needed...

What's the most efficient way to use q-links to adjust fx sends on the fly? I have a default project template set up, with one effect on each return. I'd like to have it so, regardless of what I'm doing, I can quickly get to a q-link setup so the first knob is send 1, second send 2, etc, so I have all four right there, no selecting, etc. The q-links seem to be one of my weak spots, in terms of my understanding them. Is there a way to do what I outlined here, and what's the best way to do it? Currently, I have to go to the channel mixer, then Program, then go through each of the sends. There's gotta be an easier way to do this, live.

Someone over at the GS forums tried to help, suggested Program mode from the Q-link menu. That makes sense, but still, no luck. Here's what I tried, for that....

For Qlink 13, which would be the first on in the first series, I selected "return 1" in the top dropdown, and in the one below it, I hit "insert 1" - but the dropdown options below that are either OFF, Vol, or Pan. None of those are helpful. I just want to assign each one to a send. In the channel mixer, I have all the returns set to 0.00 db, so I should be able to hear something if the send was working.

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? I read the manual, I can't believe that something that just about everyone needs (on-the-fly send levels in a live setting) can't be set up for a project?

I know that a lot of people set each one up individually for each project. I generally only have a few effects I use, so I just want to have this set up as a default. Often, I'm in some improv jamming that just starts up, I don't really want to go in and set something up, new, every time, and popping over to the channel mixer everytime is a royal pain in the a**, totally throws off my flow.

Anyone got some ideas, here? Am I just missing something? I feel like an idiot.

I have a jam this Friday, and I'm really trying to get this set up, before then.

After spending a few hours on it, last night, I've kind of concluded that I don't think it's really possible in the way I want to do it. I was able, within Program mode, to get it to be done, but I have to go in and set it up, every time I add a program, for each program. I just wanted some sort of universal setup that isn't contingent on what program I have in there. Not the best workflow. If I'm still wrong on this, and it can be done, sure, a video would be great. Thank you.

So I had more thoughts on this and decided that if the MPC developed the the track view page what you want would be there by design.

To be honest with you I didn't like the approach they took with the mixer. JJOS nailed it with the track mixer. BUT the MPC could do it from the track view. Right now the qlinks are useless on that page. The screen does not reflect what the knobs are doing.

It's a waste because it's the only view that has the audio tracks and the program tracks together. It's also one touch access and requires no page layer diving. It wouldn't take much. They'd only need to add the sends for tracks and maybe include returns.

I must request this immediately.
