I also saw this official AKAI 2.7 Update video, before it disappeared comically. But the man did not say, where we ( the MPC Live / X User ) can find the Serial Number of our FREE Ableton Live Suite Version.
Does anyone have an answer for that? :hmmm:

Joking aside: SHAME ON YOU AKAI, if this is the only NEW feature, wich is coming with the 2.7 update. You want to tell me, I pay more than 1000 Euro for the MPC and now I should also pay over 400 Euro for a Ableton to use your update, what a F..ck. That shows me the mind behind your face. There are so many Wishes form the MPC Live / X Users and you give us another ( one of thousand ) Ableton Controller. SHAME ON YOU
Sorry, I lose the faith in you !!!!

We can buy it... And then we buy weekly samples, and then we buy a cloud

I think some of you guys are looking at this in the wrong way. Just because Akai developed these new features for those of us who also use Ableton live that they've given up on MPC Software or abandoned MPC standalone.

By having this option they will attract new MPC and force users who can appreciate touchscreen hardware control for their Ableton Live rigs, which will therefore generate more revenue which will pay for further development of the MPC Software and Standalone features we want.

With Akai Professional and Ableton collaborating on MPC 2.7, I wouldn't be surprised if MPC 3.0 Software would be a complete rewrite that will give us the features we've been asking for like PDC, multitimberal midi, true sidechaining, advance warping, etc.

But I'm a crazy person...

Maybe you are right, that would be great  and I did not say anything. But they sell the MPC Live / X as "Standalone Music Production Studio" , not as a **** of a third Party DAW, witch is ( at this moment ) not included in the main package.

I repeat, They ( AKAI ) have so many other really useful wishes on the table, especially for the Standalone Mode, of so many Live/X users and they give us this ...., sorry. As well as the Splice Integration, nobody use this ....

now I realize too, why I can not find the original AKAI 2.7 update video anymore. they noticed for themselves what kind of irony it reflects.

No, the MPC Live and MPC X were marketed as hybrid workstations. The fact that it could successfully control a 3rd party DAW should be celebrated when you think about it. It's an option that you can choose to utilize, not a requirement.

I think when 2.8, and 2.9 rolls out we'll begin to see the bigger picture of what's to come. Another thing to consider is look how much faster our MPCs have developed compared to Maschine.

Great things are on the rise from what I see, so I guess it's a matter of perspective.

Maybe. Or maybe courting Ableton users might be a sign of flagging sales, and we’re .2 updates away from seeing Akai drop support. I’d like to be optimistic, but it’s not like past MPC model owners haven’t felt their share of abandonment.

Ableton Live has much larger adoption rate than the MPC Software. Be honest, how many people here actually use the MPC SOFTWARE on a regular basis?

Ableton integration was always on the board, so It's not like it's a surprise. As far as FORCE users, all you guys need is song mode and MPC Software integration. As far as support, it makes no sense to drop it, when they're implementing so many features.

Possible new hardware.
A NEW MPC X (FLAG SHIP) or MPC KEYBOARD or a Cheap Synth to compete with Behringer.

Charles in that video they showed the arrangement feature for ableton and I assume it will be the exact setup on the force.

This update will come out at the same time as the force update like the rest unless they are adding a lot more to the force.

I think this is a good thing although if I would have known I would have 1500 bucks still in my bank... I ain’t gonna sweat it though. The force is great and melds the mpc and ableton workflows nicely in standalone. Plus them 64 pads and the notes modes/progressions are mind blowing. ( well for me)

By the looks of behringer Akai will need to step it up, they will be some serious competition going forward,
As for the non ableton guys bitching, there could be more that we don’t know about interms of contracts and obligations within their partnership. I have a weird conspiracy theory that while developing the first push there were a lot of catches for both sides. Akai didn’t develop the push 2, although they developed the concept with the first one.

I’d also assume that the next update will hit before winter name, especially on the force side. The last one showed it already with ableton control.

There may also be more to this update. Maybe this video was just one aspect of 2.7 but we'll never know until it's official. As for NAMM, they're going to have to do much more to get the attention. Personally, this was no leak, it was video plant disguised as a leak.

Do you remember the mpc live leak way back when and the rumor mill around that? Worked wonders on me lol. However it got me back to being interested in Mocs again. Almost too much lol.

Many of us bought MPC Live because want to make music without laptops, everywhere we want. Me for example ;-) The only what i expect from Akai to implement in new os is disk streaming & multitimbral midi. Thats all what make me 100% happy. Ableton LIve is powerhorse, I like it a lot, but... i bought Akai Live. Maybe videos we have seen was stick in anthill to open discussion?? Love :D

All they had to do was leave the Ableton integration and disk streaming exclusive to the Force- then it could have been a multi-track recorder/remix center for MPCs and whatever else.

Yeah man I agree with this... I haven’t tried to use it since 2.0. And have no plan to.

And your comments about possible new hardware - I agree with them all - I’d love to see the keyboard version of it - would buy a 61 key version of it in a heartbeat. Sight unseen. Lol.

I think Akai is trying to make an ecosystem, this is why it looks like Mpc and Force overlap in many instances.
Now Force is on development while Mpc, after 2 years of very good updates, is almost done.
So of course they develop Force and give Mpc the same features of Force because they don't have anything else.
The goal is to pair the two products in just a software so they will work with just one development.
It will happen soon, as Akai said that Mpc will run 3.0 software soon, which is the same of Force.
After that, they will make a hardware update with more Ram and maybe start developing plugins for sale like synths and effects, which require more powerful cpu.
I think this is the roadmap and I think we will see a 4gb Mpc soon, maybe next Namm or so.
So yes, current Mpc updates will just aim to make Mpc run same software of Force.

I actually think this is likely. But my optimism says “no, this is just something small and the next updates 2.8 - 3.0 are going to be for core MPC users, and not for 3rd party software users.”

At this point, I love where the MPC platform is, so my optimism outweighs my pessimism. But I’ve lived through several of those abandonments and seen the signs of faltering attention to core features. So pessimism is unfortunately unavoidable when it comes to Akai. I’m rooting for them though.
