I know I'm just a crazy person, but I don't believe Akai will abandon us MPC X and MPC Live users...

At this point, I love where the MPC platform is, so my optimism outweighs my pessimism. But I’ve lived through several of those abandonments and seen the signs of faltering attention to core features. So pessimism is unfortunately unavoidable when it comes to Akai. I’m rooting for them though.

In the Next MPC, I'm really looking for things, that can enhance the playing and tracking functions. I would like to see MIDI Polyphonic Expression on the pads, Network Storage, Audio over IP integrations, and a return to lower clock Jitter and midi timing of the MPC 3000/4000.

While many of these current features are cool, most of the time those function go unused and actually get in the way of actually making music. I like to seat down, turn on the machine, create a melody and/or rhythm sections, and keep it moving.

The moment I have to sit back and think, "Ooh why can't I do this or that." Is the moment I lost the inspiration. I like things to be as instant as, picking up a guitar or siting at a Piano and start playing. So give me an under 4 second start/load time. How about you?

I didn't get to see the video... so, there's Ableton, new mixer... anything else? Multimidi fixed, yet?
By Cockdiesel Sat Nov 23, 2019 5:54 pm
The video just went over the ableton control features. That mixer might only be available on that for right now. No other features were mentioned.

Remember : a function that force you to buy a new software is not a feature, it's marketing

I didn't see the video and wish they expand to other DAW's such as Cubase.. I can say I love what they are doing there Making my X a lot better and you can always switch over to maschine and get updates and then another update to fix there bugs.. I think there on 2.9 and there software been out for 10 years so anything bad you say about akai one thing for sure they step there game up and are continually working to imporve..

I actually went back and started to read from page one.. A lot of you guys are spaming the tread with speculations. Where did Akai say that they were going to abandon the software.?? And when did Akai say you’ll be forced to buy Ableton Live..??

Lets just sit back and wait until thing are official. :smoker:

Does the live or x ship with ableton light or what ever the intro version is called? I know my apc did as well the midi keyboard I had. Hard to keep track.

If so then they atleast give you enough to work with to decide on taking the next step.

Discussion is spamming? We have seen a video where the effort goes into a third party product, not less not more...

The featurelist is long, this abletonthing would not be a feature, it would be marketing for another company...

Yeah.. but it’s not only about us. (The existing users). Company’s like Akai need to expand their business. So some updates might be orientated around that aspect. And indeed spamming might be the wrong word but a lot of guys are jumping their guns too early. (I admit I was like that once).

I don’t feel like Akai is abandoning us to lure in new users. We must not forget that Akai is a company. And money is the fuel to keep their business rolling..

And yes some updates are for me and some simply aren’t. Just like some of them are for you and some aren't.

So none of you guys didn't ask yourselves if Akai is going to get Ableton's white paper algorithms and implement them into MPC Software? I'm a crazy person so I ask such questions...
