I just find it sad so many are looking at 2.7 so negatively and not thinking about such possibilities. Most software developers do white paper versions to sell to other developers it's a proven business model that works for everyone. How do we not know if Akai and Ableton haven't already made such an arrangement?

We will see, but the lack of communication in 2019/2020 is baffling in today's climate.

If so then they at least give you enough to work with to decide on taking the next step.

Nope. I doesn't make sense why a lite version wasn't bundled at least with the Force. Akai knew on their roadmap ALS export and ableton control was being worked on.

As a new user to live moving from ableton I'm excited about the update. It just brings together my current set up even more.

Even if I didn't use live I'd welcome any update that integrates other platforms as it helps introduce new users and sell more units and in return create more capital for development. This helps bring all the features people want.

If it introduced updates that worked with reason or logic I'd be happy. I don't use those softwares but would see the benefits.

I own it but was never interested in it until now...

Can’t you try it for free for a few week?

Not sure why people are so negative on this as well. You could use ableton as its own instrument and track a lap top back into the live. Many angles to view this but to trash this update because you have no use for it doesn’t take away from the reality of the utility it offers.

I own ableton 10 but don’t use it except for mixing but like fresh breath said I’m really thinking of drawing my gear back to minimal hardware and yawing ableton more.
Right now I use the **** out of ableton sync without any use of ableton between the live and force.

I thought akai added midi templates for daws a few updates ago. Might not be the perfect controller but it can work with other daws. Just not as stream lined like this new feature.

The very idea of our MPCs controlling FL Studio, Reason, Logic, Studio One, Bit Wig, and Cubase is mindblowing to say the least, All I could envision from there are massive movement of lifetime MPC/Force users...

For me it's more mind blowing to compose and mix all inside a standalone Mpc.
That's the future, standalone boxes which actually are tablets+controllers and avoid the need of a computer.
I wish that was the roadmap for Mpc.
Then of course I understand that having a full compatibility with daws could capture a good audience of customers but we also have a good audience of customers who want to get rid of computers- especially Apple which is going completely unkind and crazy with OS updates that actually are a nightmare for all studios who rely on Mac.
I understand it's not easy for Akai to satisfy all different customers, and Mpc is flexible enough to be used in many different ways and workflows.
I just wish this Ableton integration BIG effort will not make Mpc heavier and with less Ram to work with in Standalone.

Not sure how long you've used an MPC. But we've been using the MPC to mix external hardware via MIDI. Also, the MPC is computer. From the MPC 60 to MPC X.

Professional Studio's don't update to the latest OS or software update. When you make money from doing music, you don't put your livelihood at risk for an update. Also, the way Apple updates is nothing new, it's been this way for 20 years plus.

That's hard to say, unless we can see the source code. As long as they optimize their code. These small functions should not take up much space at all.

If Akai Pro, implemented MACKIE/HUI control with in the MPC. This could be easily down. It should've been down with MPC X because it's has enough knobs. This is also why I wish, they rethink the next MPC FLAGSHIP and add a panel of faders, more inputs and outputs. Then it could be centerpiece.

I mean no disrespect to those that use it but for me its not my tea!

I see Akai how they are moving, but l ain't worried to much bout what they are doing.
