the 4ooo mentality

Alright I don’t have many hours on the 4k as of yet (my studio is a mess) but pressure is on & I have to start finishing projects so I have little time to slide on the learning curve & since I know “mpc” its really just a matter of getting my head around the 4k’s mentality ..

on the xl you had ,a sample in a program, and if you hit ,a pad within that program, the fader responded to that individual pad..

can someone mirror what I just said in 4k terms

my ruff understanding is and someone will have to explain this to me,,: the q-link knobs & faders don’t respond to “individual pads” but “programs” in a multi and q link sequence doesn’t respond to “tracks” but a “sequence” and all this is stored in a multi.. ..

what if I have two mutlis in a sequence .. this is just melting my brain.. s.o.s.

ok so yhea I'm seeing things a little clearer now as I figured out that the user is not limeted to 6 parameters per sequenec as you just record the knob tweaks into a sequenec and then reasign the knobs,.. its more like the user has 4knobs/2faders for realtime entery in a preformance/ live set & they automaticly reasign themself for each sequence.. yhea I dig it .. surpasses the 2k in lightyears ..

ok ok I get that and I know what a multi is, (multitimbral setup/ in this case 2x16 midi channels) but I just don't see the use for a multi unless one is using the mpc as a soundmoudule only ..

can someone explain the consept of multi in the 4k please!.. this is a 4k suport form on a mpc web page.. please don't just stand there and watch while the blind man drives into the wall, stand up and shout ...

I hate to say this, but try reading the manual.

I use my 4ooo in a very particualr way. To be honest, I couldn't "tell" you how I do most things - I could only show you.

Hope someone else can be of more assistnace.
