Any reason is legit, less sabotaging the units.

Contractually obligated? I'd still be indifferent to a deal made with a company whose product I don't use. If this were for the Force only, I'd get it as that appears to be made for Ableton.

Future advancement? That could be anything. This is future advancement and does nothing for me, and I suspect nothing for the majority of users.

There’s much we will never know, especially with how the development of the original push came about between the two companies.

Ever think this is why akai got the first crack at standalone push, the force? Only speculation but it shouldn’t be thrown away either.

By future advancement I meant like the foundation for something we have no clue about.

How about this. Akai realized you were the most loyal and best customer and decided to make studio 1 control instead? That’s the daw you use no? Would you still have the same stance?

Don’t you think you could come across selfish if the update isn’t tailored to exactly your needs?

There are legit reasons to criticize, but an update not tailored to you is not one of them.
In the last year akai has paired with fl studio and ableton. That’s a huge market share, if given time I would assume you see partnerships with others...

Charles, could you see a force device being able to control fl studio like the fire. I know very little of the fire but I’m thinking it could be ported over very easily.

Maybe we see a force x but that thing would be huge if they added any more to the chassis. The force is pretty much The size of two lives, just not as thick.

If you're an Ableton user this is a great update but Akai should've added some new features for the people that DONT use Ableton. I have no use for this update at all! I've tried to get into Ableton for years and it's just not for me

I think the Force X would have a similar footprint to the X, knobs, more physical buttons, and a larger tilt-screen.

Still wish they’d release a keyboard version of the X - tilt screen and all.

And this 2.7 update, not my thing, but I imagine it’s more about contractual obligations between the two companies. So it is what it is. I still don’t like the direction Akai seems to be heading in though. But what I find curious, is that before this update, I hadn’t seen anyone ask for Ableton integration support. I don’t see why or how anyone with Ableton would want to use an MPC to control it. If they integrated with Logic, no way I’d use an MPC to control it. It’d be a head scratcher to me. But I don’t know enough about Ableton, admittedly. Maybe it’s perfect.

Glad they fixed the convert sequence bug.

Curious what 3.x brings.

The Force is more than capable to control FL Studio. All they would need to do is, port over the mapping from The Fire to The Force.

It was more speculation because the URL name and the $500 price drop of the Force.

Yea, I have no real need for the force and can’t sell it without losing half my money right now...
Got it because I didn’t know ableton control was coming to the Mpc line...
Live and learn I guess.

Lot of my time inside the MPC beta team. Reading all posts, commenting and giving points of view about how could be the new mpc live software and the standalone. Showing bugs and checking the bugs that others put on the table. But the only thing that has change is something that is out of the MPC Live DNA.
I think AKAI doesn't give a **** about all that people that have give our time and experience in the Beta Team.
I though I've find with the MPC Live a machine like the old ones, build to stay. But is the same philosophy of the new technology. build to be obsolete in 4 or 5 years.
Don't buy AKAI MPC Live. Better Choose MPC Touch if AKAI is your choice

I see a lot of people frustrated with this update. You have to look at it more as an expansion of the ALS export capability and less about using this as a controller for the DAW (Push 2 is way more capable, visualizations alone). However, this gives you a method to easily export your tracks to DAW and expand upon them with the plugins in your DAW.
Also, Ableton is the most commonly used DAW at the moment, so I can see why this is the focus. Tight integration is not easy. Ableton is one of the few DAW's that already has a fully open API that is easy to work with. If you've ever scripted/mapped a controller to be used in FLStudio Performance mode or as an MCU for Cubase, you will understand what I mean.

That aside, we have seen the leaked photos from the beta. We know more is coming in future updates. I think Akai wanted to push out what they know works now before the holiday to boost sales.

I sure they overstock parts of the MPC X. My guess is the MPC LIVE ate into the sales of the MPC X. If they do make a Force X.

How well is the new Roland Fantom doing? Perhaps, they are seeing if the market is there. I know a couple of people who bought Fantom 8 but it was mainly for the keybed. (Which is incredible.)

I would give you 1 weeks max to wrap your head around Ableton. Then it's back to business of creating the dopeness.

Behringer, has lit a fire under lots of companies.

Sync your Force and Live together then run them in tandem. Did they add, a song mode to the FORCE?
By Cockdiesel Wed Dec 18, 2019 1:49 am
Doesn’t look like they added song mode, but I guess it’s been on the beta testing for awhile.

I had them both synched up stand-alone and even ableton going on my computer and it was bad ass... all synced perfectly except the arp seemed to trigger late sometimes on the force but that could have been my bad.

I should really consider this again as making beats on my couch seems to not produce much in terms of finished product. I’ve literally filled up the internal drive and two thumb drives with a lot of very unorganized and unfinished beats.
I want to switch my racks up and use the digital out of the z8 and have it set up with aksys on the computer.

Need to sell off some gear too but with the changes reverb made, no one seems to be buying shit anymore. All I get is extremely low ball offers, like 250 for my force I have listed for 1000, heck I’d settle for 850-900 and take the 600 dollar loss just to free up some space...
