Hey at least they fixed my account on their website and now I can grab the latest versions of everything there! I used to have to go download the demo of the software because my registered downloads wouldn't update past 2.3 heh.

Im kinda scared to update it now that someone mentioned it won't connect to their Mac afterwards. The Ableton thing is a bunch of crap nobody asked for. That was the Force users, let them have it, thats what the Force was made for. At least there was a handful of bug fixes. The only one I ever ran into was the loop/playback bug related to warping audio. I might have been the one that actually pointed that out to them on the Get Satisfaction forum.

LOL everything l said keeps getting true and true. Akai is on a AbLive train for real. I don't get worked up on what Akai is doing. Akai may not do the other DAWs like they are with Ablive and l for one don't care.

The force and mpc are going to be running on the same ecosystem. Akai might have to do some damage control they got shit on hard today for giving an update. They will need to do a lot if they plan on dropping another piece of hardware next month.

They just pissed off a lot of customers with the force and mpc. I’m cool with this update because I can kind of see the road ahead. But I’m also not going to play dumb that I didn’t read a lot pissed off comments today.

Not only them but think about someone who was going to get them a new Akai piece for Christmas or around namm reading all those comments. People literally going to sell their machine because they didn’t get x,y and z feature.

You’d think they would have been more pissed about splice integration, but no... now you can control ableton like a apc with a gui and it’s the end of the world. It’s kind of mind boggling to me.

They are just complaining to complain.

Why, when Ableton has more users.

It's great how far this product has come since launch. Impossible to please everyone, but very possible to add features years later to a product that seemingly doesn't effect the capabilities of the product. I only use Ableton as a recording software, but maybe it'll be a good transition from being strictly hardware to learning software integration. I didn't like the MPC DAW much because it seemed more like an extensive plugin instead of a DAW to me. I find myself itching to know Ableton a little bit and now that I can import everything with relative ease and use it to mix and process makes it appealing.

Also the Force being at that price makes me jealous. It's got the I/O I wish the MPC Live had.

Agree, even if they just fixed bugs from the same state I got it in 2017 I still would be more than happy. I realize that is not the same for everyone, but it was the perfect piece for me.

How if the i/o much different on the force? It has less outputs and same inputs but with preamps. Are you talking the cv?

In other news if you want to cop some gear cheap now is the time. Seen z8 for 200 hundred the other day. Used forces selling at 750 on eBay, sucks for me trying to sell stuff but not sure if it’s the economy or just “recession” in the used gear market, but I have had stuff up for months now that usually would sell in a week, not even getting legit offers anymore.

If you find something you like, make sure to haggle with them. Trust me, it’s very desperate times for people selling gear.

When the MPC Live came out it had Ableton Link. What did people think, Akai Pro was going to do? When The Force came out I said at the start, that this device is for Ableton. The MPC LIVE/X in it's current form, can't do what a Laptop, Controller, and Software DAW can do.

Going strictly hardware, is like working extra extra extra hard for no reason. It's like people who track 120 audio tracks, when they could've done the same thing with 12 track.

The price of used gear market is bloated. $6000 for SP1200, $5000 for TR 808, $2700 for MPC 3000. Why buy it, when beginners can buy a Akai Fire with FL Studio and do much more.

That’s shit that don’t sell. I been down that block and unless you catch a deal and under cut those bloated prices you don’t make dick.

The environment has shifted now, got lucky to off load gear when I did because it didn’t take much time to correct the market... now I’m kind of the bag holder for a bunch of cool gear, but I have no one blame but myself. Just sucks because I really need to get my money right to relocate again...

Bro l have S1V4 and Reason 11, bad ass DAWs but... Akai don't seem to be going in that direction. You don't need the Live or X to control S1v4 , their are pieces out there that can do that.

  you're right. Akai is on that AbLive train from the beginning , it says it on the dam box lol

Hahaaaha going all hardware? Man l will never do that again. Only hardware l'll have is my Live, that new Phamtom and my computer lol
When dudes told me they were doing 80 to 100 tracks for a song, lm like why? I can make a song with just 10 or less tracks. And l dam sure wouldn't try to track OUT 100 tracks. :WTF:  That would be a nightmare. Im not impressed by a person having a ton of tracks. :vomit:

Sorry, but some people do not recognize what is going on here.

The hardware (RAM, Cpu etc.) is limited on the machines, updates and features should be planned very well with priority on bugs and costumer requests first.

What they are doing now, is to implement functions, that are not usable for many costumers until they pay for it, i don't know if this is legal either and:

Many costumers even don't want to use it, even if it is free, means: they take away performance (this ableton stuff takes performance or not?),.

To promote a third party software instead of focussing first onto the thousands of support and forum/ board - ideas and messages from the costumers is not the way to go, sorry.

What a waste of time for all the ideas people have written over the month or years now, because they thought this company is community friendly.

What would Mac-user think, if apple would implement a big Windows "feature" into their "update", but they had to pay for Windows? Like a huge Mac-update with a software that only runs on a PC?

Some would say "great i have already a licence", but many would say "haa?, what are they doing with my computer?"...

These kind of third party updates should be absolutely optional (check yes/no) , also because of new icons in the menue that makes it not better in the overview.

To all the ableton lovers: think about how brazenly it is for all the others, or act like a nimby (not in my backyard)...

Thanks, just my personal point of view.

Not every sentence is a paragraph.....

I see how brutal the environment is trying to resell this shit, it must by insane to bring new products to market. I can see why these partnership exist, and they don’t interfere wit( the functionality of the machine. Your argument is weak with even the slightest clue of economics...

Akai is currently servicing an end user base that invested in a depreciating asset..... meaning anything beyond what they offered from launch is just icing on the cake. You can argue promised features, etc in the scope of marketing but this action by Akai is something to be praised, not given a lame what about reaction.

https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/
Don’t let emotions and unclear reasoning cloud your judgement.

Akai is servicing products that end users will lose money if trying to resell. This end of the world shit is child’s play. Be a **** adult admit that you knew what you were getting into upon buying, if this really negatively affects you and then evaluate. Most of all thank Akai for continuing service on a product released three years ago.

I swear the internet is just intellectual dishonesty these days by stable geniuses on with a laptop.
