Why its not implemented in controller mode??
Is there any workaround?
To me it feels weird, because im using my live as main audio interface, so with this update to control ableton i need another mixer or audio interface?
Im selling my mpc live to buy mpc x for my eurorack, i thought it would cover all my needs. But now im confused. Mixer is needed again.
Need good advice. :?

A mixer is not necessary needed. Just plug the outs of your soundcard (if you got another one of course) in the 3/4 ins and press monitoring on the sampler section.
anyway i understand the weirdness of the case you only got your mpc as soundcard.

Maybe this is something you can use:

https://jackaudio.org/

I’m using it because the submixes of the mpc software become useless when I insert a vst in 2.6 or 2.7.

Now I can have 32 or more digital outputs in my mpc and send them to a another daw and do the vst processing over there. (Never had this issue with other daws because they’ve implemented the plugin interface perfectly)

The best of all of this is that you won’t experience the latency you would get when you have to track it out to other equipment like a new sound card or mixer. :smoker:

I also dont get why it does not work in controller mode. Not so much for the audio interface but from a workflow point of view:

The workflow between MPC and Ableton is now broken. I cannot use all in Ableton. I need do things on my MPC (in standalone) switch to Controller mode to export the stems and then switch back to Standalone to control Ableton.

A perfect workflow would be if I can immediately copy tracks into clips in ableton

Like the Splice "integration", the Ableton "integration" isn't really effective, and the architecture of the MPC platform (controller vs standalone modes) is part of the problem. It's a design that doesn't really foster deep integrations with anything. I think they have to fix that problem, before any of these integrations become meaningful and truly useful.

Do you have a tutorial ?

It took me a whole day off trial and error and watching Youtube videos butin the end I've got it to work. I'll do some more testing and when I'm done I'll put up a new tread with a tutorial.

I'ts magificent and for me it beats the whole 2.7 update that is centered around Ableton Live.

I can stream 32 or more output chanels to other daws and let them process my vst plugins. Right now I'm glad that they've messed up the 2.6 and 2.7 submixer. It has pushed me to search for an alternative that is way better than what I had..
