I know that's right. Hey, a used 3000 cost some dough, more than a brand new X lol  I love my live but I don't love Akai    :smoker:

Folks seem to love the sound, and 1-2 features the Live doesn't have. Agreed, no way I'd trade my Live for a 3000. The furthest I'd go back is a 4000, and I wouldn't even do that, especially since I have a Z4 that I don't eve use.

If my wifi wasn't slower in my studio for some reason, I could appreciate the ability to connect wirelessly to Studio One. But I will go with the update as it addresses quite a few bugs, not that I was experiencing them. I will wait to see if any significant bug were introduced though; maybe wait for a point update.

Pure facts.

Why not give us the force-style clips mode WITHOUT the need for Ableton?

Nah man, not going to happen. People will not all of a sudden buy an MPC because of this.

The ABleton Live integration is sub-par, it really isnt any good! People who want Live integration get a Push, simple as that

download is pretty slow here ..

I came from Ableton with Push to MPC Live for standalone and workflow. However arranging songs is bot really a joy with the MPC (or I havent figured it out yet) - which means currently the majority of users might need to go to a DAW at one point in time in the process anyhow.

Ableton is in my humble opinion still the best DAW, so I like the integration (I agree also it should have been update 3.7 as this is not really important).
The thing I’m struggling with though is: What is the point/ masterplan of it in terms of combining an MPC and Ableton workflow?. :hmmm:
Ideally I can bang out ideas on MPC, drop them onto Ableton Clips and then use Ableton for arrangements and proper plugin use. But the way its set up now it doesn’t work as the live integration only works in standalone...

I can agree with this. We have devices here with beautiful full color screens. I was really expecting more visualizations and deeper integration with Ableton Live. Maybe in a future update? At the current pricepoint of the Force, it would become the choice controller for Ableton if they added USB interface and control support as well as visualization on par with the Push 2.

i just don't give a **** about anything in this update. If I was on ableton, it would not be through the live or X (now one of the most expensive and under-featured ableton controllers on the market) and as a person who bought the mpc to use an mpc... this offers not a single thing. It is basically a path to weaning yourself off of the mpc lineage over to computer software that akai doesn't make.

that being said, i didn't buy the live for what the machine might do down the road, i bought it once it was capable of doing what i thought got me my money's worth. To me, if they add more stuff i want, it's a bonus. Doesn't mean I am not disappointed though.

Other New Features Your MPC X and MPC Live now support USB to Ethernet adapters.

This is pretty big. It could lead to many other options such as: Use any audio interface with a Ethernet port to expand the I/O, Network storage, Midi Network, Cascade two machine together, Send Audio over IP.

Do you think I can send the standalone tracks to record with a multitrack track by track?
I could make it with ethernet?
Is it possible that one day they make it with usb?

All depends on what they allow the Ethernet port to do. I know people whose tracked, 60 to 80 channels at once. Not sure these machines can handle that track count. But pushing at least 16 mono tracks would be nice.

Good.
I am looking for a solution to record all tracks of Mpc standalone into separate tracks on a multitrack in real time.
It would be great if I could do it with usb.
Any suggestion?

I agree - this Ableton "integration" isn't going to make people buy an MPC. What WILL make people buy an MPC is a focus on the MPC platform as a whole. Make it the best music composition tool that it can be. PDC, disk streaming, ability to load VSTs in standalone, multitimbral midi, etc, etc. Those are the things that are going to make people buy an MPC. This Ableton integration (and the Splice integration) is nothing more than Andy and his infatuation with clips, and the belief that MPC user needs are dominated by clip usage. The last few updates have had very little to do with the music composition capabilities of the MPC. That's why I say their direction is concerning.
