Still no standalone midi maps......How hard could that be?

I am looking for a solution to record all tracks of Mpc standalone into separate tracks on a multitrack in real time. It would be great if I could do it with usb. Any suggestion?

The current hardware isn't configured to do that, unless Akai Pro creates a USB daughter card that expands the I/O. Other than that, you can buy an used LIVE, MIDI them both together, and send out 12 tracks at a time. Ebay has one for 734 right now.

same AF.
I knew what all was in this update and was still hoping that it'd have something for an OG MPC guy like me. Absolutely nothing. This is the first update since 1.0 (which really should've been 0.8) that was 100% skippable for me. I thought we'd at least get that mixer window update.
Makes me wonder if this is the end of the road for MPC.

mr_debauch wrote:i just don't give a **** about anything in this update. If I was on ableton, it would not be through the live or X (now one of the most expensive and under-featured ableton controllers on the market) and as a person who bought the mpc to use an mpc... this offers not a single thing. It is basically a path to weaning yourself off of the mpc lineage over to computer software that akai doesn't make.

that being said, i didn't buy the live for what the machine might do down the road, i bought it once it was capable of doing what i thought got me my money's worth. To me, if they add more stuff i want, it's a bonus. Doesn't mean I am not disappointed though.

I have a Behringer X32 and it is possible to send up to 32 tracks of audio to a DAW from the MPC X/ Live thru USB. This is only possible with controller mode. In stand alone you are limited to
the 8 analog outputs. :smoker:

If you have Two MPC LIVE's you can track out 12 and with Two MPC X, you can track out 16. Maybe more if you use the Headphone outs.

Lots of heated posts deleted...In case you guys haven't noticed, we have a private messaging system here. Please use that for your back and forth bickering. Absolutely no one is interested in hearing your little private war of words and I have better things to do than clean up the mess.

Keep on topic please. Thank you.

Andy makes me sick. It would take a new standalone to do all what is said. You need more ram! I wouldn't buy into it because the computer is it for me. How many people would buy a new MPC with disk streaming , PDC etc in a standalone box? I don't know but will Akai take that leap?

The only way I’d buy a new MPC at this point is in a new form factor - 61 keys.

The current platform is sufficient for what I do, because I don’t complete anything in the MPC. At some point, sometimes pretty early in the composition process, I dump stems to my DAW and finish everything there. If I needed to complete things in the MPC, I’d probably want more of those advanced features.

New form factor - 61 keys, I’d buy one in a heartbeat (and knowing Akai, probably have to hope it’s right - lol).

How the hell can AKIA not notice that the new update renders the MPC X unusable in Controller mode?? Been working a lot lately so just noticed it. I only use it in controller mode. What a joke of an update!

Just get a KAWAI VPC1, put your LIVE or X on top and stop waiting around on them. Your Hip Hop deserves the best.

Get it and never look back. The only thing that you may ask is, why didn't I get it sooner.
