iomega zip drive

HI!
I really need help with my 'iomega zip 100 plus'!!!
the mpc has got a 50 pin scsi connection, and the zip drive a male 25 pin connection.
where can i get this cable???
i asked in several computer and electric shops but i couldn't get none anywhere.

What computer stores did you go to? Harry's Discount PC Imporium? Most likely the salesperson(s) are not computer experts, just kids from high school working a part time job, and they had no clue what you were looking for. Any good PC store will have these cables (CompUSA does definitely)

AFAIK, all SCSI zips feature a female port, hence require a male connector on the cable. Are you sure it's a SCSI zip? Does it have an ID selector?

It's a zip plus, that's the paralell port version, and it won't work with the mpc

Zip plus is actually SCSI and parallel. There are 2 connections, one for parallel and one for SCSI. One is 25-pin female and the other is 25-pin male.

I've never tested one myself, but I think I got one report of someone using one.

go to the place where you bought your MPC, or the music store in the keyboard section, they might not have a new one but might have a used one for cheap lying around.

i finally found the cable i need!

unfortunately it still doesn't work.
everytime i choose the scsi id of the zip drive to load or save files it displays something like: " scsi drive not ready"

OK.. First off you guys got to realize that ZIP drive you have is a 25 pin parrell drive not SCSI.. what you would need is a adapter.. and to my knowlege they dont make one, SCSI and Parell cables are 2 different types one is use for printors and gaming and also your ZIP (which i curently have also). The other for eh... other things. If you are able to find a adpter, its going to be a box looking thing and its also going to be any were form 50-150 dollers.

I just thought yall might like to know before going any deeper in your search. If you do find one please tell me. (by the way Jaz drives use scsi if you guy guys have one of those relics)

Just install a internal ZIP ...total cost would be under $40 easy

I bought one of these drives recently for my MPC and while it certainly does have a SCSI port, the 2kXL refuses to recognise it. I'm assuming the SCSI fuse is intact and the lead was brand new too. SCSI ID was correct and the drive works fine by parallel with my PC.

So I'm just gonna fit an internal IDE drive and keep the Zip Plus for use with my PC.

Has anybody managed to get a Zip Plus working with their MPC tho?

I finally bougth a iomega zip 100...
IT ALSO DOESN'T WORK!!!
the mpc recognises the zip drive, but every time I want to load/save files or format a disk it displays 'wait' or sh*t like this.......i've been waiting for an hour and still nothing....
I'M GETTIN' MAD WITH THESE ZIP DRIVES! ! !
