Orchestra sounds - using eastwest or another engine

Hey guys,

Does any of you have any input on what is a great sounding Orchestra engine to use with the MPC and how could something like the EW Hollywood Orchestra engine be used with an MPCX?

I assume that I would need a host computer to use the EW engine and then pick a keygroup in the X to have acces to alter some MiDi.

Also I am not sold on the EW or any really, it just seemed like a good one from my research. Maybe there's another one with ease of use that I should consider? Thanks in advance for the input

I'm not at all familiar with EW Hollywood.

Native Instruments has a decent suite. Symphony Essentials on the cheaper end. Symphony Series on the higher end. I'd wait for their next sale though. Spitfire Audio is good, but more expensive. But they likely have a Christmas sale coming soon.

No experience myself, but I hear good things about Cinematic Studio Series. I'm likely going with their Solo Strings whenever they put them on sale. No woodwinds or percussion from them yet though.

And yes, you would need a computer to host these.

Not sure what your needs are, but Tutor has MPC Orchestra on his sample site. Sounds good for multi-samples outside of a player like Kontakt, especially for the price. No "keyswitching" though as the Live nor X offer internal program changes.

I have EW Composer Complete Collection. Those spunds are the truth. Only way l know you can use it is with Akals software.

I use it in Reason and Studio One.

Thanks guys!!! Good info here. I want to tinker with composing simple orchestral pieces. It seems like very steep challenge not being a pianist, but I had to find a goal for 2020.

Def looking for great sounds, but maybe starting with an easy-to-use software would be a good idea.

The Native Instrument stuff is great and easy to use. In addition I recommend the MPC-Samples orchestral pack for Standalone.

I also had east west composer cloud for a year but I don‘t like the Play engine and the samples consume a lot of memory and space.

Oooh that's great insight!

If you go the computer route, EastWest libraries are awesome. A bit pricey IMO but if you're really working on creating that feel, they are worth the price. I don't have any of the Hollywood versions. I bought their libraries when they were called "Platinum". I use those libraries on just about every record I produce.

The EastWest interface alone is the dopest. I have Hollywood Strings and they are beast!
I just finished a track for an intro using some in collab with Xpand 2 stab sounds and it sounds bananas!

And how easy was the software to use and navigate around it? I see it does have quite some options for every instrument.

Man its so easy to use... Put it this way l never used a manual. The GUI is beautiful , like on instruments like Ra, Ministry of Rock, etc looks goid and sound better.

Let me finish this RnB track lm doing. The female singer is buggin the hell outta me to finish and l will let you hear it. All done with EastWest instruments. I don't use kontakt because they don't support offline computers but Soundsonline.com does.
