Here is a listed published by Reverb showing their top-selling synths and drum machines of 2019. So Akai Pro MPC didn't make the top on any list. But then again, most things on this list is sub $1000. In this list, I don't own any thing on it and there are one things I would consider. Moog Mother 32 matched with DFAM. How about you?

So is the MPC price point to high?
Are more people keeping their MPC's?
Are less people purchasing the MPC?

Interesting for sure, given that the Live is often sold under $1000. Don't know how to interpret it though, but I would have thought the Live would have been on the list. And certainly could speak to low revenue for Akai. That would be a shame though. Because the MPC is really a great platform. Frustrating to see its development IMO, but a great platform regardless.

Nothing on the list interests me enough to say think about buying it. For me, it'd have to be a scenario where I worked with someone that had one, and I saw them using it first hand.

Moog Mother 32 matched with DFAM is nice. But in all honesty, I really don't want to patch a whole bunch of cables. Was thinking about getting it for a Mod Bap project. But with the MPC 4000's I can do most of that and have complete recall.

This is why l told everyone Akai will not make a NEW standalone with better trimmings, between the X and the Live. They will shoot themselves in the foot. There is to much competition out here. Im not buying anyt9on that list and lm definitely not buying a new MPC when l have a new computer more powerful than any MPC Akai will make.
My computer is my MPC. Akai's bug rep has people on shaky ground, they wont give PDC amongst other things. I'll be honest if it wasn't for the Live being portable l wouldn't have bought it. Its the biggest reason its around now.

It will not sell, a new MPC. This new generation is not bowing down to Akai and that rep that Akai had is basically gone, its only for nostalgia moments.

Lets face facts people are taking laptops to the stu and rockin when they travel. Lets face it people aren't even finger drumming anymore, ots a losing art. They are mouse clicking notes in the computer. That's the new way. I won't do that but...

Akai l don't see upping their s software game either, they love Ablive more than their own product lol.
Enough people didn't buy the X/Live as we thought, but l knew that already. That's why l moved on. Everything now is nostalgic to me about the MPC experience

MPC has always been an incredibly niche market, nothing has changed there. MPCs were not on that Reverb list last year either.

That list really just tells us what gear is sold and re-sold a lot on Reverb. The OP-1 is great, but take a look around the net to see how many sites are dedicated to it (tutorials, sounds, user communities etc) and it's clear it's nothing but a very niche product used by a small, hardcore group of users.

It would be interesting to see how the sales of any of these synths/samplers compare to that of a popular DAW like Ableton.

I've never been into the whole T.E. side of things. It's the lack of professional I/O, the form factor, and horrific Ergonomics. It's ironic that the Teenage Engineering OP-1 is selling for $1000+ USD. I guess it's a classic legendary game changer already. Not saying it's not useful.

Synths/samplers compare to that of a popular DAW like Ableton.

Like comparing Honda sales to Tesla sales. Perhaps Akai Pro is going for a higher profit margin from fewer amount of sales. Considering Akai Pro's SOC, screen, knobs, buttons, pads, and most of the internals are the same on the LIVE/X/FORCE. Their P.M should be pretty good.

Well I never saw many Mpc Live or X 2nd hand on internet.
And the ones you find have high prices, sometimes almost as new.
So I just guess not many people buyed them used.
Your theory could be reversed.
If people don't sell many used Mpc, maybe it just means Mpc users like it and don't sell it to look for something else.
I can see a lot of Elektron stuff, maybe that means that many Elektron users are getting rid of it?
And you should look at the sellings of Thomann to understand if Mpc was a good seller or not.

Do Thomann, publish sale numbers or their best selling units. If their sales are like guitar center or Sam Ash in the US. I bet 80% of their sales comes from the $500 USD and below price point.

You bet or you guess?
Do you have enough informations to say Mpc Live and X were not good sellers, apart from Reverb that I never used in my life?
Or just speculations based on your feelings?

I actually have pretty detailed information, from NAMM. However, we're not to allow to publish that information publicly. The sales of drum machines/groove boxes are nothing compared to harmonicas.

Man, you are totally unsane.
It's a week you disturb other people posts or write this speculations based on you only know what and then defend them with silly replies to confuse people.
What is your plan?
To disturb this forum and laugh about how clever you are to disturb a forum?

Question? What are you arguing about? I'm not really following. If you want he numbers become a NAMM member. https://www.namm.org/membership/global-report if not. You can pay $1000 for the information as a non member.

And again, I that list is from REVERB'S own numbers. Also considering that reverb only sales MUSIC Equipment/instruments, their number tend to reflect the overall numbers.

I've just performed a search on Reverb using the 'Sold' filter (recent sorting, stopping at 'sold 12 months ago) I'm seeing around 240 OP-1s sold in 2019, compared to around 130 Minilogues, 80 monologues. 120 Digikats, 50 Korg Volca Beats and 30 Behringer Model D.

These are hardly large numbers so unless I'm missing another source of 'Reverb' sales here, I'm not sure how much statistical relevance they have.

Also I see 72 MPC Lives sold in 2019. Again, maybe I'm missing something here, but that would put the MPC Live above the Volca Beats and Model D.
