Live discontinued?

Someone on GS is stating that Mpc Live is discontinued on Thomann, Germany.
I checked and it looks like it's true.
New Mpc on the way for Namm?

They're still listed on Sweet Water, Sam Ash, American Musical and Guitar Center for 999.99. In fact Guitar Center has a Gold MPC X listed. Too be honest the Gold MPC X doesn't look half bad. As far as Thomann, is there a link stating it's been discontinued? It's also still listed on the official Akai Pro website as a new product.

It was a question and regarding Live, not X.
I just wanted to know if anyone has some more informations.

Has'nt been announced on their official site and it's still listed on other major US retailers. Maybe Thomann is no longer stocking them. Hard to say...around this time of the year, companies pull lots of listing to prepare for the 2020 shipments. In store shelf space and warehouse storage space is limited.

Uhm let's see.
Usually when a stock is finished, you can make a reservation (sorry I don't know the exact word).
It just doesn't appear on Thomann anymore, not even out of stock.

Could be the end of the manufacturing life of the MPC LIVE form factor. Considering it's basically the MPC Touch with a battery. It's also the same price as the AKAI Force now. Maybe, just maybe the FORCE X is on it's way.

Apparently Akai confirmed there is no new Force coming on Namm.
But they didn't say anything about Mpc.
I would be not surprised if they makr a new Mpc with upgraded cpu and ram.
But all it's possible, especially from Akai ahah.

Many thought the Live was being discontinued when its retail price dropped from $1199 USD to $999 USD back in September 2019. Akai posted publicly that the Live (and Touch) would be updated for "a long time to come", but they also didn't necessarily state that the Live wasn't being discontinued.

" The team is continuing to build on that and I'm sure that we will see some exciting new features in the MPC hardware and software in the coming year"

A week ago Thomann told me the Live would be back at end of february. There's another store with that date, musicstore I believe.

I wouldn't read too much into that, though - I mean aside from a non-dev making a statement that more updates are to come in the MPC in general. Adding "exciting new features" in the MPC hardware could mean that new OS firmware updates will bring more standalone features, is all.

I would be shocked if they introduce new MPC hardware in 2020, though I would love to be wrong.

Yeah it's the first thing I thought when reading the reply.
Maybe she just meant standalone.
I would not be so shocked, it's a logical step to upgrade ram and cpu sooner or later on Mpc.
Maybe not this year, maybe next, who knows.

If Akai were to bump up the CPU and RAM on the Live, the X would be gone as well. They're both exactly the same hardware inside (so is the Force). There is no way Akai is going to rev up the 'little one' and leave the $1800 flagship (and the Force) behind spec-wise.

It would have no sense to just upgrade the little one.
