Yep, its ALL this right here. No bigger CPU or amount of RAM is going to fix their half-ass software team that has no clue what they're doing. They have a product manager who thought 'People don't want multi timbral midi input' leading the team, and these guys cant even get MIDI sync stable and that shit was perfected way back in **** 1984. They should be able to pull that off without even blinking nowadays. They're pretty much in line with the rest of modern day devs who never finish shit, and never fulfill what they originally promised.

Not that big. Remember l am only doing drums and percussion. Plus its only in 4 to 8 bars.

On the real the Live/X shouldn't have been linked to the software. That software should have stayed for the likes of the touch and Ren, any controller it should have stayed as a standalone. If they were indeed flagship machines they should of been better than they are.

Giving us 2GB ram in 2017 was ignorant. When the average laptops hold 8 GB of ram.
There is nothing wrong with thinking the new MPCs should have been more powerful.
Their use of FLAGSHIP is different from mines l guess. That's bbullsh** its just an instrument and shouldn't be daw like. If l wanted just a MPC instrument l would of gotten the 2000XL. Some of the complaints are LEGIT! :smoker:

Yeah of course there are things which can be done with current motherboard, I agree with you that Akai developers are behind the market standard where brands like Elektron and Roland can make full midi and streaming wih much less cpu and Ram.
Akai is really behind the coding market standards.
But for example with this motherboard I cannot see how you can have a good warp algorithm, or more polyphony on synths.
Danoc is right when he says today standard with computer is not less then 8gb of Ram and I would add i5 or i7 cpu.
Is it really so expensive to have that in 2020?
And can you imagine how many possibilities would be open up with this standards on Mpc standalone?

8gb of Ram with i5 chip, motherboard, etc. Will bump the price up. I'm willing to pay for the bump in specs including I/O. But many people were complaining, about how much the X/LIVE was at the current spec. :lol:

Mpc software is not even at a Daw level of beginning of 2000.
Midi is just bad implemented, and it's technology of 40 years ago.

Building one not so much, but building 30,000 units yes.

Here is an example, let's say you have a machine that needs 10 screws and each screw is .03 cent us each, it would cost .30 cent USD per machine.

Now if you had the same machine but wanted higher quality screws, so you spent .10 cent US each, those ten would cost you $1.00 dollar US.

So now you want to build 30,000 machines and which means you need, 300,000 screws plus extra just in case some screws break, need to be replace, or are defective. So let's say 400,000 screws. At that many screws, they give you price break of .05 cent us per screw. Just in screws alone it would cost, $20,000 US.

Now imagine CPU, motherboards, etc.

Nah Charles the MPC's we have are behind. Only 8 audio tracks? 2gb of ram? And that is being tooken up by internal files so in essence we ar not getting a full 2gb. No PDC , no disk streaming and l could keep going.

Ok let me switch the words around, the MPCs are UNDERDEVELOPED. How's that?
Akai didn't have to give 8gb lets say 4gb but make the dam machine OPTIONAL to add more ram up to 256gb. Mother board is just holding but should have had a better one.

My whole conclusion is if l was a Dev l would of made the MPCs to compete with a computer specs.

Ram don't cost that much. :roll:

People want a blown out MPC l would give a minimum to keep cist down but give options to the buyer to blow it out.

Yes, it's going to cost much more. :nod: We're talking $3500 to $4000 USD

Intel Core i5-3570 is $74 USD but you need 30,000 units. So they give you a 50% price break.
Making it = $37 USD each chip = $1,110,000 million USD, just for the chips.

Why do you think they put those SOC in the LIVE, X and FORCE. They had to stretch that cost out over different products.

The MPC LIVE/X is not behind compared to any other standalone on the market. Get a Elektron, Toriaz, Roland, or any other. :lol: You'll sell it and go back to the MPC 2000XL with O2R and DAT machine. :lol: :lol: :lol:

What about ram? I paid 50 dollars for 8gb of Ram.
So it would be less then 100 dollars more.
And for 100 dollars more you have an Mpc.with i5 chip and 8gb Ram.
And you can really throw away your computer and just make All inside such an Mpc.
As many audiotracks you want, powerful effects and synths and maybe also a mastering chain.
That should be a forward thinking from Akai.

Yes, $50 is good for one unit but we're talking about thousand of units. Don't forget, manufacturing, order fulfillment, Testing, Dev, Design, Return, etc, etc.. :lol: $3500 to $4000 per machine.

Am I the only one who doesn’t see the Mpc software marketed as a daw? I don’t use it much but to me it seems to only represent a better GUI for what’s going on in the Mpc.
